Now that DOND's nearly a year old, does anyone know if any of the background / incidental music has become available?

For those who HAVEN'T been a contestant or in the audience, you DON'T hear any incidental music at all. You only hear the theme tune as played over the opening titles. I don't know about other occasions but when I was in the DoND audience, all the contestants danced to the theme tune!!! :D

Yes, apparently it's eerily quiet without the background music.

Oh so when the £250,000 goes, the *happy* deal or no deal theme tune still plays?

Well the £250,000 has been going early on in a lot of games recently, but I've never seen it go so early that they haven't even finished the opening titles...

Well, the happy music is the same as the music they use when a contestant is being picked, and apparently, that is done in deadly silence, so I doubt they'd play the happy music when the £250k is revealed after the person's dealt, like it does on TV.

Wow, that must be weird. All those lights flashing and the gameboard showing random names...in utter silence...

Yes, someone on here a while back said it was weird when that happened.

But I suppose Noel, the crew and the contestants get used to it. It must be strange when they watch it back on TV to hear all the music that's been plastered all over it! I do think the music's quite good, though, that's why I want it! Although the Tim Halbot remixes are excellent, the guy must be a legend at music, and he's also only 18 too, from what I've read on his website - I clicked on the wrong section and it had pictures of his last day in Year 13!

He added a few a while back, perhaps he just forgot to remove the "4 to come" caption?

I think there are two versions of the sad music. One was played in Pierre's game after he dealt, I think.

The good thing about the music is that it isn't intrusive. And I suppose the reason there is no music in the studio is that for the producers at least it is easier to add it on a finished show. Because you always know when a player is going to "deal or no deal" and for Noel to ask the question as you hear the deal/no deal music come on.

That was one of the main indicators that convinced me the show wasn't live, although I worked that out after about two minutes into the first episode! The other reason being that Noel Edmonds wouldn't be available five days a week plus Saturday every week, would he?! Also, he doesn't say the winner of the viewer's competition - it's added on the screen manually at the end of the show by someone in the C4 graphics department, I'd imagine

.Anyway,back on topic...Ilike the music...I think it's very atmospheric.

In the early days of DOND, the music used when box choosing was taking place was a bit more dramatic, and it had a sort of extra "whine" that was played every so often in the background, so it sounded like this - it's difficult to type, don't make fun! LOL!!! :-D "mmmmmmm.....weeaaaaaeee...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"

Has anyone got a clip of this?

I'll have a look on YouTube...

It took me ages to work out that when a contestant seems to be taking ages to decide whether or not to deal, that's probably just the editing drawing out the suspense by cutting to random shots of the audience, players, Noel etc. I only noticed in Vic's game, because you could see his lips moving before they cut to a "tense" shot of the audience!

I must admit that I didn't realise at first, until I began to think it a bit weird when a contestant more or less said they were going to deal, take Paul from a few days ago as an example, and then when the question is asked, there seems to be a long gap, but it's not the contestant doing it - it's the editing, like you said, Dan!
