Has anyone got any confirmed details about the rumours going around about Noel leaving DOND next year to take a year's break? I had heard that the crew who work at DOND had apparently confirmed that Noel would be leaving next August, but with all the press interest in Noel and all the hype in the press about Noel returning to our screens, his girlfriend(s), his return to the BBC, etc., etc., I'd have thought that if he was leaving, it'd have been all over the press by now?!

His contract ends late next year so apparently it might be true

I think it will be the point in which the format changes into the 'Big Studio' format

Yep - can't imagine that I'd like a US-style version anywhere near as much as we have now. I love it as it is, and any kind of changes to the format will probably lead to me stopping watching.

Without Noel the show would need some very big changes to bring the viewers in

Once again, Daniel, I wholeheartedly agree with you on that one!

He might have a year's break, and therefore the show might too. Doubt the same contestants would return after a year's break, though, would they?

They could bank lots of episodes, after all they do record at a faster rate than they broadcast except for when they have extended breaks. Getting a couple of hundred ahead of broadcast is surely possible, which would give Noel the best part of a year off while they show them all.

I had wondered if that would be a possibility. But it would still require exactly the same 22 contestants coming back after a year!

I've always wondered how the show would end. The 22 players selected are guaranteed to play - so will old members or crew members have to fill up the other spaces when the show is nearing the end?

I seriously hope Noel doesn't leave, I'd hate to see it all come to an end but I'd really hate it if they replaced him with someone else - Les Dennis or other people that have been mentioned.

The only way I'd want to see it carry on without Noel is if someone totally unknown takes the reigns. It'd be strange at the start but it'd give the audience and the contestants the chance to build a new friendship with someone with no television or commercial history.
