I'd imagine they'd be silent.

It would probably depend on the contestant and how they were taking the game and be able to laugh it off or not. Stunned silence would probably be the most likely. If the contestant actually wanted to win the 1p at this stage, then maybe they would pray he/she got their wish, but who knows?

The contestant would have to be an original kind of character for most of the other contestants to not be near crying, and there would be shocked silence, with Noel likely repeating 'this is relentless bad luck'.

Before I write my thoughts...hello! I've been in Devon, and have been without the internet until tonight.

If the contestant took it in really good humour, say, laughing a lot after the last high amount going and saying "Ah, just my luck! Box 9, then, bet this is the 50p, bet it is...YES! HA!!" then so would the audience, laughing along with him. That's why in Nick's game when the 1p was revealed, there was some laughter from the audience, but with Trevor's, who's dream had just been utterly crushed, there was just a stunned silence (save for one 'You're joking!').

Yes, having just seen Nick's game in full on Spiked Humour, it did turn into comedy really. After he turned down the £9k offer, he took out all the remaining reds, but it was almost in descending order - £100k, £35k, £20k, £75k, £1k, £10k, £3k. I reckon that would be much easier to take as none of them were individually a huge blow, and I reckon he wanted the £100 to go next after all the reds had gone.

With Trevor, one box was his everything, and the fact that it was the last box before the phone call just absolutely killed him (metaphorically!)
