Brilliant link. That really brings back some memories.

Will this show be any good? what could ever get me sucked into C4 afternoon TV?
Both questions were soon answered.

Nice to see some of the original legends again, Len, Sam, Raj, Trevor, Leigh.

Interesting to see how long it took to get the format established and how much Noel held her hand. I'd forgotten that.

31/10/05? It seems like years ago.

Cheers jonny.

BIG FAT SPOILER BELOW:

I'd forgotten it was that exciting. How many players nowadays would say no deal with those five final boxes left?

BIG FAT SPOILERS END.

Watching it now. Seems weird seeing unfamiliar faces (I didn't start watching weekday episodes until the More 4 repeat).

It does seem very slow placed (obviously with it being the first show, everything needed explaining).

The phone ringing is different. I only remember Trevor out of that lot, although I've seen pictures of Natalie (she had 250k in her box when she played). The Jennifer who won 120k is in the audience.

Interesting how no-one celebrates with Lynn at the end, Noel's 'power 5' rhetoric is not yet in evidence, the names of the box openers are not mentioned (other than one or two), nor are their opinions asked for. Noel's asking of the central question is less emphatic, indeed he is less overtly cautious of the board, and his sparring with the Banker is minimal...the list goes on - lots of differences! But a great find jonny.

Its great to be reminded of how much the game has developed as its progressed. The first episode was certainly a great start but I think now we get to know the characters a bit more and feel emotionally involved it is more exciting as we will them to win/fail depending on how we perceive them !!

This was a fabulous find !! It would be great to see this repeated for the significant games ie - highest/lowest/funniest/luckiest/unluckeist etc !!

wow, never saw this one when it was first aired. it is interesting to be reminded of all the old characters :D the game does seem slighlty more fast paced now than this one was, but is uppose because it was the first one it would be slower.

Just a thought.

With more and more people watching the show, and joining the boards as a result, watching the first show might be of interest to them.

Instead of losing this thread to the lower pages, could the original show be a link on the main site page?

Considering Endemol's aversion to pictures, I don't think they appreciate a visible link to an online video of one of their shows.

True enough. They haven't closed the digital spy link though, so we could sticky it in general disscussion.

They have no aversion to this though.

I wonder why?

Just got around to watching it, and it's amazing how much it's changed. Just the little things, but it makes a difference.
Lots of close ups of Jennifer, John and Lisa in the audience.
