I wish good luck to anyone who applies, and congrats to the bloke that will be on.

That forum is awful though. The layout sucks. Are those really the best avatars they can get?

What about the comments posted on that forum - cruel and personal!!!!

I have yet to see a contestant posting on there, wonder why that could be?!!!

Agreed that the layout is terrible and that some of the people on there are quite cruel in their comments !! Very cruel and unneccesary in fact! But it is the only one even slightly affiliated to the show, in that it is C4 , I thought (rightly) that if someone was to get the call that they would probably post on there ! I, for one, would post on here first though as it is much much friendlier. :-D

I also used to use another forum but post on there very rarely now as it has descended into a slanging match, and I can't be bothered with arguments . They are soooo pointless ! As soon as you start shouting people can't hear you anymore !!

I still read it but it gets harder every day to find the bits that are actually about DOND !! he he

I've just been checking out the C4 DOND forum as I've heard a couple of comments recently about the forum.

I've obviously got to be careful what I say as I run this site and don't want to appear biased or anything, but I can see everyones point about the 'colourful' posts there and why they don't get a lot of contestants joining. I'm surprised that a lot of those comments remain as they are clearly against the forum rules over there.

With the nature of the show it is always going to create differences of opinion in how a contestant played their game, or how they came across on screen. It's fair enough to disagree with the way they played the game and put your opinion across as we would all have different goals and take different risks during the games, but I see no need for it to turn into a personal assault on the individual. (Sorry rant over :-D )

I think we are building a great community here and it's great that the contestants take the time out to join and post about their experiance on the show and also allow us to ask them about their game and how they played.

The thing about the C4 forum is that it's accessible by anyone who has registered for "C4 forums" which cover all kinds of topics, Big Brother seemingly being the most popular one. They're not necessarily DOND fans on there, often just people who have seen it the odd time and feel like saying something insulting about the contestants. I saw Geordie posted on there recently, got some abuse and I expect probably won't go back.

The fact this stuff does stay there is surprising though, I'm a regular visitor to their cricket forum and the view of the posters tends to be that it's heavily over-moderated with excessive bannings and deletion of posts. Maybe they need to redirect their resources to the DOND section!

A few threads have been deleted today :D most noticably from one particular wind up merchant who was aking for application forms last week , claiming he got on the show 3 days after that and then yesterday shouting that he's got an audition at the end of the month - There may well be auditions at the end of the months but this guy was spouting drivel  which is a common theme on there .......... and you get people coming in and starting a new thread every few days asking exactly the same few questions - we all know what they are !! Slightly annoying :P But still, less vicious than that other threat

I agree Kestral :-D

I think we're like a big happy family all in one love nest, like on the show.

We should all meet up and play our own version of DOND.

I didn't see anything cruel or out of line in that forum, but I do quite like the idea about a love nest; no ugly people though, they spoil my wang.

Well said Kestral!!! Thank you for that. No contestant in their right mind could be offended if any of your members post their opinion on the game itself but as you say, when it becomes a personal assault, then that of course if another matter.

The fact that more and more contestants are now coming over to you, speaks for itself.

I received a really warm welcome from your members for which I am very grateful. I did find the comments made about the size of my rear quite hurtful, which is why I would not touch that forum with a barge pole! I also see that some of my friends were also abused, for other reasons, which is totally unnecessary. However, I see from Neef's posting that some threads have now been deleted. Here's hoping that mine was included!!!!

Lisa :D

I shouldn't worry about people like that Lisa, they have obviously got deep insecurities about themselves. You're better than them.

Those kinds of comments are simply inappropriate and highly immature, and I completely understand your decision to avoid that forum Lisa!

Whilst I do believe in freedom of speech, I also believe in ethics. Pointless comments such as that can be really hurtful. Its malicious and a classic example of the level of intelligence that exists in today’s society!

Looking at other forums that are out there, I think that this is one of the most friendly sites that there is.
Too often people use the anonimity of the internet too spout offensive and hurtful rubbish ( that they probably would never say face to face) safe in the knowledge that they are only looking at a computer screen.

The fact that this site was expressly set up as family friendly site has gone along way to making it the place it is.
Long may that continue, and well done to all those involved.

If the forum carries on like it is, maybe a C4 'banker' will make you an offer

DigitalSpy is quite offputting too.

All I will say is that you have a great community here and I'm pleased to be part of it. It's quite strange, because I moderate on another board so I find half of my buttons are missing here ;) but I'm glad you lot are so welcoming and indulge us in discussing the game as we try to get back to reality!

Hi Neefs
I am confused - I looked at the C4 forum and read the thread - does this mean that everyone has now been called and that I should give up hope?

Oooh, no - I haven't quite given up yet ! I was just celebrating the fact that someone from the same audition as me got on and that the calls were actually coming through. I have faced the fact though that very few people will actually get on the show as they have auditionned soooo many people.

The odds are still much much better than winning the lottery though :-D
