With the first season coming to an end, which has been the best month of the show so far?

I voted March with April a close second.....

For me, characters like Sarah H, Marilyn, Dave Cheeseman, Nancy, Aaron, Saj, James and of course Lucy are pretty impossible to repeat.

It has to be May for me because all my favourite players played their games in May

Definitely March for me. Like never_wrong, there were so many players whom I really liked, on the wings and in their games - Lucy, Dave Cheeseman, Marilyn, Bob, Barbara, Sarah H, Nancy, Flash, David, Gentleman James, Jim R, Pat G (and Pat M I suppose, although she only arrived right at the end of the month)...I was watching some March games the other day and it just seemed like such a friendly atmosphere, with really nice people. Hahah, that sounds like I'm saying the current contestants aren't nice people - of course they are, there was just something special about the March ones for me.

Although April was pretty good, too...hang on, that's when Sarah (M) arrived! And she played in May! Why did I vote for a month that didn't involve Sarah??? I feel so ashamed...

I was goign to vote for you, but i voted the month she arrived, April, as it was also the month that the beautiful Kirsty played.I still have a video of that amazing game...

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

A fairly easy decision for March - Lucy, Aaron, Marcus, Mad Sarah, Flash to name just a few of the more memorable people on the show from back then. My next choices would be the months either side - February and April. I don't think its been the same since. :D

I think the show's "golden age" was from the run of big winners at the beginning of March, through to somewhere around Morris's game in early May.

There was certainly a dip in quality towards the end of May, partly due to the contestants' luck running out but also a lot of poorly edited shows which meant we didn't get to know many of the contestants before they played - all the advice, banter etc. in the wings seemed to get edited out of the broadcasts at one stage.

That aspect of the show seems to have improved again since, and we've seen some more good characters, but the Double Deal Week was a bit of overkill and not too many games have really stood out since, recently the cautious players seem to have got the strong boards and the gamblers have generally gone home with blues, and the £250,000 seems to insist on appearing at an early stage in nearly every show!

I guess there's not much that we haven't seen in terms of gameplay now apart from a quarter-million win, so it's harder for a game to be memorable, but maybe we will get another run of great games after the break like we had a few months back.

I liked all the months so didn't vote for one. The reason why is because each game had a complete different way of playing and also different character and personality for each contestant for each game

Definately May for me.

Lofty, Tom, Mark, June, Emma, Pat M, Morris, Gaz, Tan, Simon etc...

It'd be interesting to see which month has the most Hall of Fame members.

It's interesting to think that the best games happened when the Banker was at his nastiest! While it did give us some painful shows to watch it also gave us the great finishes and big wins we most remember - Kirsty, Morris, Gaz, Saj etc.

More recently the offers have become, with the odd exception, much more generous - games like Melanie's left me with mixed feelings because, while she was a great contestant and it was good to see her go away with that amount of money, in the interest of entertainment the Banker really shouldn't be making no-brainer offers at that stage. And others have turned down generous early offers and never reached such heights again - the show has definitely suffered from many games peaking too soon.

It's March for me too, although May pushed it close.

I'm not entirely sure I subscribe to the view that the recent crop haven't been quite as exciting - in any group of 22 people, you will always have some who stand out more as 'characters' than others.

I agree with Power5 that the editing during the Double Deal week period was not as good as it might have been - at a time when we needed to see more of the players on the wings (because of the reduced length of time they would be on our screens), bizarrely, we seemed to be seeing less of them. :?

Also, and this is a random thought rather than a researched one, the age profile of the players seems to have risen lately - we seem to be getting many more 'middle-aged' players than before which, given that the majority of us on here are relatively young, makes them a little harder to identify with, unless they are a truly memorable characters that would have stood out in any 'era' of the show! :D

It has to be March for me, when there were loads of big characters around on the wings.

I prefer the older players...then again, I'm frequently compared to an old woman, so it's probably not surprising...
