Final Show And The Banker Has The Last Laugh

The final show of the season has just been aired on Channel 4 with "Hatman" Giorgio in the chair.
He has become the 7th member of the 1p club. Even in the Viewer's Competition with £10,000 and $20,000 and £50,000 on offer, the box opened only contained the lowest amount. With a pictorial compilation at the end and an extended version of the theme played out, the Banker truly had the last laugh!

Yep. Sadly it wasn't him playing yesterday because he was the one that had the £250,000 and he would have been the first person to win £250,000.

well, not necessarily...a lot of people have had the £250k...none have actually won it

It must be awful to be picked to play, when you had the £250,000 in the game just before... 'cause statistically, you'd be less likely to have it (Yes, even though 1/22 chance all the time, blah blah blah, but you know what I mean).

No, you really wouldn't. But I agree that it would be annoying, because you'd be thinking "Why didn't they pick me yesterday??"...

Perhaps that's why they didn't pick him yesterday! :shock:

Is it all a fix? Only joking. Just can't beleive the luck the players have had this week. But surely next series we'll see a £250,000 winner.

It would be nice to see one! But no doubt the surprise would be spoilt by a leak to the press if it did happen.

What happened when WWTBAM got it's first millionaire? Did it's popularity go down? I can't remember, to be honest...

I think it did.

But if you remember back to when WWTBAM first aired, there was such a myth about who would be the first £1 million winner. We actually knew when that player would be on - it had been leaked to the press a couple of weeks in advance.

IMO I don't see why DOND will be any different. People seem to know who plays when and exactly how much they win. When the time comes and we do have a £250k winner, it'll probably be published and there'll be no escaping it - even if you don't read the papers or watch the TV. The whole country will probably be telling you to watch out for it.

We have had fake spoilers stating someone won the £250,000 (Francesca I recall being one) so it'll be hard to tell if the spoilers are genuine.

It's incredible that there are 7 members of the 1p club already, yet no-one has taken away the biggie. However, it's not really all that incredible when we know the £250k has been on the table 6 or 7 (?) times now. Only a couple have had the courage to go for it, most deal too early or at the final stage.

Not really, because people are much more likely to gamble if they have a 1p / £750 final two than a £1,000 / £250k final two!

Eight people have had the £250k, and seven have had the 1p. (Although two of the 1p winners swapped for it.)
