We've talked a lot about the best contestants.

What about the best spouse/partner? Who added a new dimension to the game that wouldn't have been so memorable without them?

For me it has to be Lofty's wife. She turned a fairly ordinary run-of-the-mill game into an absolute roller-coaster of emotion. She was about 8 months pregnant, and was in tears from the moment Lofty's name was called. £18,000 was just what they needed as a deposit on a house.

I've never been so pleased at anyone winning £18,000.

Any other nominations?

Pat M's husband Bryan, provided the source of several of Pat M's comments - e.g. to Noel: "You'll only ever be second best Noel - I've got Bryan!".

I loved how Dave Cheeseman's wife looked so gobsmacked when he was offered (and Dealt at) £20k - you could tell how much the money meant to them and I was so happy for them both.

I liked the way John M referred to his wife, even though we never saw her...and the way Russell's wife told him to stop messing about! Frank's wife, too.

Oooh, and Fadil's wife was lovely...I was so moved at the end when she said she was just glad that he enjoyed the game..."To hell with the money!". It was so nice!

Pleased? I was pleased he lost out on £48,000 or however much he could have had.

I found PatM and Bryan to be very cool!

What a lovely, heart felt sentiment. I'm sure Lofty loves you too.....
