I remember there once being a game around 2008/2009 where a young man was playing, who was wheelchair-bound, and one of his offers was "Money + A meet and greet with the players from his favourite football team". He declined the offer but dealt at the next offer (which was a cash-only offer, but still a significant sum of money). If memory serves, after he dealt, he had the perfect proveout round, thus completely beating the banker. Yet after the game ended, the banker rang back and gave him his "dream deal" anyway, I guess because he was disabled :|

I can remember at the time, this rubbed quite a few people on here the wrong way, and inevitably, it would severely divide opinions if it happened years later.......

This was Rhys in December 2008. At the end of the game Noel said that apparently the banker had rung the football team and said Rhys hadn't accepted the offer, but the team said he could have it anyway. Given several players had turned down 'dream package' offers by this point, and Rhys had scored an outright win, this would probably have been the football team's decision. Not sure if they were swayed by his disability or not though.

I've been watching some games from January-April 2008 recently and.....WOW, this would've easily been the LEAST diverse group of contestants in the history of the show

During those first few months of 2008, there were like 4 non-white contestants (Natasha, Ben, Sheila and Bash) and about 3 or 4 gay or bi contestants!! To think, there was a time when it was actually a novelty to talk about gay or foreign contestants! :o

Interesting......i just got a reply to my comment on Janelle's game on YouTube from someone who apparently went to the same school as Janelle - apparently Janelle really wasn't the nicest person in the world. The comment reads:

I know Janelle from school, I randomly looked this up this morning as I remember seeing this on tv years ago and being completely shocked and wondered if it was uploaded anywhere! She was absolutely horrible at school, my biggest bully and relentlessly bullied me for 5 years. Janelle was different, troubled - she would be nasty even without a crowd. I am shocked she went to work with kids and I’m not surprised in the least that didn’t get on with people on the show, she was extremely disturbed when I knew her and made my life hell which affected me for years afterwards.
