We've been wondering who's on the other end of the line. Surely the banker can't be him, he seems too nice a guy!

I remember an unfortunate spoonerism of the saying "Beggers can't be choosers" when Keith was reputedly having a hard time staying off the bottle

Whoever he is, at last he seems to be rewarding the courage of no dealing at the 5 box stage by making decent offers when there are two boxes left.

Yes, the banker seems to be a lot more generous in most situations lately. I'm not sure if that's a response to criticism of the mean offers, or simply a way to lull the future contestants into a false sense of security...

The fact that Noel recently pretended to phone up the banker to check the validity of the offer isn't going to do much to silence those who don't believe there's anyone on the other end of the line... on the other hand, the fact that he "phoned him back" may be enough to convince some people that there is indeed someone there... who knows?! :-D
