Youngest (and oldest! contestants)

Hi,

I read somehwere when you could apply for DOND (months ago), that you have to be at least 18 to be a contestant, although I heard somewhere the minimum was 16.

Anyway, who's been the youngest contestant so far? Becca was 19 I think, she's the youngest one I can remember.

And as for the oldest contestant, I think June might make it - she was 82, I believe. Although someone said Jospeh was even older.

I don't remember Beryl's age ever being stated.

I suspect Joseph is slightly older than June as I saw a picture of him on one of the lottery gameshows last year where his age was given as 82.

As half the contestants seem to turn out to be about 20 years older than you think when they get in the chair though, it's probably someone we haven't thought of!

yeah but you just know she'll end up being about 33 with 4 kids, like loads of the other players :-D

No, atleast 25.

I'm old enough to apply, but I never will.

A)I won't get picked cos I have crap luck and never get through to these sort of things.
B)I wouldn't want to appear on the telly.

I would have thought Beryl was older than June, but what with the surprising ages of all these contestants, she's probably about 19. :shock:

I thought I remember someone saying he was 74? Could be wrong though.

Yep, he was 25-26. Looked young but was mid twenties, amazingly!

Just checked, and at the beginning he says "You are James Thirkettle, aged 25 from Dartford in Kent". So if he then went on to say he was the youngest ever, he was being even more forgetful than usual!
