Now first off I know he's not really a banker whoever it is but let's just image he is real and he really does get massaged by Andre. How do you imagine the banker when he's watching a contestant.

I imagine in him in a big room sitting in a big red chair with a picture of himself hanging on the wall and a lot of bookcases with a glass of wine or two and perhaps a cigar next to him and he's got this file on the contestant in front of him and..............

Ok perhaps i'm thinking too much about this.

I always imagine him to be quite young pretending to be much older!

When I think of the banker I think of ex-contestant Ron!

Little hair, bald, tubby, smokes a pipe and sits with his feet up with his fingers intertwined laughing evil-y at anything that goes wrong in the DF.

Glenn Hugill, ex-Coronation Street actor, who is rumoured to be the banker!

I think of the Banker as somebody more like Lance, contestants have even said that Lance sounds like the Banker, and when the contestant said this (can't remember who... Daniel where are you?! ;) ), Noel said it puts an end to the rumour that you never see Lance and the Banker in the same room together!

:o I don't know! I feel such a failure.

And I picture the banker as looking more like Gentleman James than Lance.

We've had this one before, and my opinion is the same - I imagine that guy on the Nationwide ads, Mark Benton (Mr 'Brand new customers only')

Image

I can just imagine him, 'You won't win the £250K, you bin here too long, thats for brand new contestants only' :-D :-D :-D :-D

Did an image search on the word "banker" and these are a couple of the better ones...

It also came up with someone by the name of "Ashok K. Banker" which is interesting as we had a DOND contestant called Ashok not so long ago!

I imagine him as the odd one out. Everybody else want's the player to win a lot of wonga, except the banker who want's them to win 1p.

And what's all this about respect. I was always taught you had to earn respect, not expect it. He's rude to everyone else, so why should he be respected?

<<<<< get's out the big wooden spoon.....

Most people lucky enough to speak to him on the phone seem to compare his voice to this guy, so I just imagine him like this:

well, this banker just about fills in all the requirements - he's old, he's a banker, he's got a pile of cash, AND he has no hair!

:-D

That's the problem now, everyone just konws him as 'that guy on the nationwide ads'. He's been in loads of tv shows, and is an excellent actor.

I picture the banker as Fiona Middletons fiance.

Perhaps in reality he is just a middle-aged bald man with a beer belly putting on a posh voice and has a bit of filthy mind when chatting to some of the female contestants (well that bit is true).

I agree, he IS a brilliant actor, but he is damn good in them Nationwide ads. I like the one where he's telling the young guy about how they make money on credit cards, and he's on about the disco and stuff :-D :-D
