Well the end of deal has already started. They have got rid of their official forum,so obviously they are hoping to talk with their fans on fb or twitter if they have any questions about DOND, something they rarely did on the forum, unless it was to ban people like me for criticising their audition process.
Was anyone on here,at the studios during March/April this year?

Simon F saw the last shows to be filmed back in May (the Double Trouble Christmas specials). I'm not sure if he saw the last of the regular show's as well, though.

If he did, it would be much appreciated if he told us whether the rumor that former contestants will
be on the wings for the last few shows is true or they they sent 21 leftover wingers home empty handed. ;)

Nope. I was just there the final 2 filming days (Thursday and Friday). Was almost hoping that the final game would be a spectacular one but fate doesn't work like that.

Sadly, with the way the show has gone lately, I have a feeling that when the show reaches it's final episode, it'll be a fairly quiet and unceremonious send-off, like the way they quietly went off to a 2 month+ break earlier this year, with no highlights from the show's 10 year run, no former contestants re=appearing as pilgrims, or even any hard mention of it being the last show, and knowing recent patterns, perhaps the final week will just be a short week of normal shows, finishing mid-week or something, due to some horse-racing event (By the way, the horse-racing breaks were ok at first as it was good to get breaks for the show, but now they're just annoying, as the show can't even last 3 weeks now without being pulled off to accomodate some semi-popular sporting event!) :(

It'll probably end like Millionaire which ended with a couple of Z list celebrity specials :( although I was glad I managed to attend one of the recordings for one of those as it was on my bucket list to make it into the WWTBAM audience! (Maybe because it was his last shows but Chris was a great laugh during recording breaks!)

Hopefully they at least allow a final highlights show but to be honest with the advent of YouTube and the like these days probably a bit pointless.

A highlights show holds no weight now. Very few will care - even considering the tiny number that post on here, only a select handful will lap up any send-off.

It'll quietly air its last, there'll be a small published article confirming that the next few weeks (or perhaps just days) will be its last and that's it. Discounting the feet-finding shows of 2005, it'll achieved a solid operating decade spanning 2006 - 2016. Not at all bad.

I remember they had around 4 million watching when DoND started. Nowadays they struggle to reach even 300k.

I think that's just the way it should be, psycho. It's just the way I like most things to end, quietly and without fanfare, nobody really noticing until a fair time afterwards, by which point it's long gone anyway.

It seems to be a common thing nowadays where shows tend to peak in their first couple of seasons, and then after about the third season they start to become boring, or get too weird, and slowly start to become stale.

Ironically, C4 have lost the right to horse racing from January 1st 2017. Shame it's very likely DOND will be off the air before then.

That is a shame, it sounds like DoND isn't going to last beyond this year, because that would've been something to look forward to. The schedule would've gotten back to normal, without talking all these breaks every second or third week, and they still could've given the show a good rest over July/August since the summer breaks made a comeback last year. Maybe, they could've even brought back the weekend shows

What a shame :(

Intriguing tweet from Noel's official Twitter account when someone asked him if applications were open for Deal

Noel Ernest Edmonds ‏@NoelEdmonds 45m45 minutes ago

I don't think so but honestly I have no idea if the show is continuing with or without me. Que Sera

From an ex DOND contestant it will be a shame to see it end.

I would feel so sorry for those players who may not get a chance to either play
or get their game shown on tv.

Our version of Deal Or No Deal in Australia had a good solid ten year run, it started in 2003 with a $2Million format and aired 1-hour primetime shows every Sunday. Then at the start of 2004, it became a Monday-Friday half hour format at 5.30pm with a top prize of $200,000, and it lasted another 9 years and 8 months, before it abruptly ended without warning in October 2013

I'll admit our version was at it's height in the early prime time format, and for probably the first 2 or 3 years of the half-hour format, but i think after that it started to slowly decline, partly due to our DoND host Andrew O'Keefe becoming increasingly annoying as the show went on (At the start, O'Keefe was likeable and relaxed, but by the end, I couldn't stand him and he'd become way OTT)

But I think Aussie DoND's ultimate death knell was the fact that from probably 2010-onwards, they were actually CHOOSING which games were shown on what days (The big wins were shown on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the mediocre-good games were shown on the Thursday, and the trainwreck games were almost always shown on Friday), which made our version because extremely boring, formulaic and predictable

Mid to late June, depending on how many breaks the show takes for horseracing.
