First one of these I've done for a while.

Same as the ones I did for Nong and Scott (and Craig) back in August. You have seven days to vote! :smt023

I thought he was definitely the biggest OHO on the show for a while... I'm prepared to say it was a reckless gamble as you just can't turn down that much money when there's still a chance of winning a blue... Makes for good entertainment, though. :smt023

I voted "questionable". Though it does also come under the "reckless" heading.

Questionable on principle alone. That principle being that the only way to win the jackpot on this show - which is the aim in playing this show - is to no-deal to the end.

If you give yourself no chance of the £250,000 before you even arrive (targetists, I'm targeting you), don't play Deal or No Deal. It's really, really simple.

That said, in certain situations we have to concede that it is silly to go on. For instance, on a £750/£75,000 final two. Come on, £23,000 was the only option at that point.

Unless you really don't care what you go home with.

I think it was a reasonable gamble, and I've said all I have to say on the matter in the other thread.

I've gone for questionable because I don't think it's fully reckless or reasonable.

Reasonable!

He's young, still lives at home, has a job, and £23,000 wouldn't have changed his life.

Point proven.

I think so many mindless people on this forum think about their position, when actually, It's not you lot playing.

If the blue was the 1p then I would call it reckless. But because £750 is still a high consolation I'd go with questionable.

I'd go with the 'Questionable' option

But, to be fair, and i don't wanna come across a wakeyist, but we were well overdue someone to take a big gamble at 2-box, I don't think we've really had anyone take a significant gamble at 2-box since Scott i believe!

Questionable statistically, but very reasonable in terms of entertainment value. I enjoyed the gamble thoroughly. The tension reminded me somewhat of Morris's game (although nowhere as intense)

Yes...I remember the atmosphere of Morris's game vividly. I genuinely, truly believed we were about to see the first male quarter-millionaire. I could just feel it. The tension....and then the disappointment, the raw disappointment of losing £81,000.

£20,000 was still a lot of money, but that couldn't mask said disappointment. At £101,000 that, too, was a questionable gamble looking back (in my view anyway), but IMO it was also worth a shot, being guaranteed £20,000.

Putting it that way, £20,000 is near enough the same as the £23,000 Ahmed 'should have' taken. So for all the same reasons £23,000 should have been dealt because it's 'life changing' then im sure morris thought exactly the same about his £20,000 fallback. I'd have gambled too! £20k is just over a years wages for me and nice financial security.

Tegen had the same £20k/£250k finish as Morris except she got offered a rather derisory £77k. That is definitely a gamble I would take!

When approached with a finale that offers a life changing fallback, my utility goes straight out of the window. In my eyes I can't possibly lose, whereas by dealing I would be going against my own philosophy and would regret it much more.

As soon as the lesser value of the two nudges into the lower orange/blue territory i'm more inclined to deal. Any fallback less than £3,000 that is relative to a £50,000+ jackpot would have to be countered with a derisory offer for me to carry on! It's all relative.

Example, £10,000/£75,000 - More likely to gamble
£3,000/£35,000 - More likely to gamble
£3,000/£250,000 - VERY likely to deal
£35,000/£250,000 - VERY likely to gamble!
