i dont know what made me think about this, but i was curious to see what you think.

Which extreme scenario do you think is likely to happen again? It doesnt matter whether it's in proveout or not

i know one of them hasn't happened yet, but as they say nothing is impossible :D

I'd like to see 1p/10p, followed by a comedy offer of 4p...and then a Deal. :D

There's 231 possible final pairs, I wonder how many of them we have seen so far?

Today's show was number 207, so you would expect we've seen most of them but some will have happened more than once. Sure MisterAl or someone will know!

Yeah, a few have happened several times - £1/£250,000 and £500/£20,000 spring to mind. (Incidentally, the latter is the best final two ever.)

I know we have seen 50p/£1 twice, giving the only two offers in pence (one in play and one after a deal).

There are 5 possible worse ones, none of which have happened yet!

At least two other people have had that final two as well - Ron and Vanessa both no-dealt and won the £20k. I expect it's quite unlikely that any have happened more than 3 times.

From a mathematics point of view, they're all as likely to happen. So I voted for the one I'd like to happen. The £100k v £250k!

JT and Mark (second show) had it, too! So that's at least 5 times.

Natalie, Anna, Germaine and Nancy all had £1/£250,000 - only Nancy had the £1.

I'd love to see another £100k/£250k, with the player still in play of course. We all seem to have forgotten Sara - I really liked her and gutted she took the deal and this was the final two.

Today's show was number 207, so you would expect we've seen most of them but some will have happened more than once. Sure MisterAl or someone will know!

I do know, but before I reveal the answer please allow me to state a few freshly calculated probabilities:

THEORETICAL PROBABILITIES OF THE NUMBER OF TIMES YOU'D SEE ANY PARTICULAR FINAL TWO IN 207 GAMES

0 times: 40.7%
1 time: 36.7%
2 times: 16.4%
3 times: 4.9%
4 times: 1.1%
5 or more times: 0.2%

In other words, we'd expect that 40.7% of the 231 pairs (that's about 94 pairs) would not yet have put in an appearance.

What we've actually seen so far is that 93 pairs haven't yet been seen as the final two. Very close to the theoretical value.

As people have already identified, the £20k/£500 final two has appeared most often (5 times). £35k/£50 and £35k/£10k and £250k/£1 have all appeared four times so far.
