From all the DOND shows people have seen so far, when is it usually the best time to deal? Vote in poll.

Definately go all the way. Youve got a 50/50 chance of winning something decent or better. For me, it would depend on what was in the box before. If there was a red in the last game, i would play cautiously. If there was a blue on the table last game, i would go for it.

According to MisterAl's stats, the best time to deal for the majority of players has been with five boxes left. I think I'd agree with that...definitely not at the last two, as the banker's offers are normally pretty ridiculous at that point, I think.

In gameplay terms, the best time to deal is when the contestant gets out of the game at their highest offer and sells their box for more than it’s worth. But on a personal level the best time to deal could be anytime; it all depends on the contestant and their individual circumstances. I would define the best time to deal as ‘where the contestant deals at a sum of money they would be happy to leave with and where they feel comfortable and it’s the right decision for THEM and leave the game with no regrets’.

The game doesn't really take any kind of shape until the third offer. The fourth offer at the 8 box stage is usually pivitol and in all honesty this is where I would take the Deal or No Deal question seriously - up until then the question is a no-brainer.

Anyone still in the game at the five box stage, unless they have four reds and one blue or a full set of reds would almost always be better off dealing. If you go any further, then you simply have to have faith in your box and open it no matter what.

I agree with that. The banker's offers with two boxes left are normally so stupid that you have to trust yourself to be able to gamble to the end if you're turning down the fifth offer. I think it was Aaron who said that was one of the reasons for his seemingly early Deal.

I agree, five boxes left seems to be the best although we've seen games where two very high numbers are left at the 8 box stage and not much else, the banker has made a good offer, and things have come crashing down after that.
