It wasn't stupid because she was prepared to go away with the minimum amount to chase her ambitions, which I personally find commendable. The gamble didn't pay off, but she took it on the chin and didn't look to regret it, so it can't really be regarded as stupid because nobody's written a law where you have to deal if the offer is statistically brilliant. The decision though was the right one for her.

It wasn't greedy because she wasn't after the money with that no deal, she was after the prestige of becoming a quarter millionaire. She was a confetti hound and she played the game the way she wanted to play it. She wasn't after the extra £110,000, she was after the title of "Quarter Millionaire.". And for that, I say kudos to her.

And that is your outlook on that specific situation. You appear to be the kind of person who would make a decision based on statistics, and that is absolutely fine. Others though prefer to look at other elements to help influence a decision and ignore statistics, because they're gamblers, and statistics are near meaningless to them. And that's fine too. The only time I feel it ain't fine is if the player can't handle the situation going wrong. Kerry-Anne handled the disappoint very well. Nothing wrong with going against the odds IMO.

@Regarding swap: Pretty sure I didn't imagine it but it wasn't caught on commentary, I'm sure she said something about box 17 that was on the table. It meant something or something like that.

As I say, Kerry-Anne had her priorities, with number 1 priority to be claiming the prestige that comes with "quarter millionaire" (I personally don't see anything wrong with that) and her second priority was then to get enough money to move closer to where her husband works. But to attain that first goal, she had no choice but to take part in a gigantic gamble, but she looked prepared to accept the worst possible outcome.

Did she have her priorities in the right order? If she can live with that fact she won't be as close to her husband, then Kerry-Anne is the only one who can answer that, and we can't call her stupid because of it. A post-game interview with Kerry-Anne would have been quite nice.

@Regarding swap: Mother's birthday. She had a "good" feeling about Zoleika. Both good reasons to believe in a specific box if your superstitious. The £250k could have been in either, and surely it'd be worse if she had swapped it away?

I'm leaning more towards 'stupid' (although I'm not sure it can be called that) but I think 'greedy' can only be attributed to arrogant players (if at all).

Did seem a bit different from Corinne's game in that the no deal seemed to lack novelty value even if it was exciting so it was a strange/questionable decision in her position.

The fact that she didn't have a back-up, the huge drop down to £10,000 made her out to be a bit of an idiot. But then if she had her mind absolutely set on winning the £250,000 then you can't blame her.

I think it shows that these 'dreams' and 'feelings' aren't enough to go off when it comes down to it and you have to use common sense too.

I see your point and I agree to some extent, but the Banker doesn't just play the board, he plays the player too. Rob said at the start of his game that he didn’t think he was going to win the £250,000. This gave the Banker the impression that he wasn’t a gambler and could probably get him out of the chair at a moderate sum. Whereas Kerry-Anne came across as a gambler and meant business straight away hence the huge offers to stop her going all the way. Also Kerry had a slightly better board than Rob IIRC.



Maybe she didn't want to swap in case she'd swap the £250,000 away, which in my opinion would be worse that what actually happened.

In my opinion I don’t think she was stupid or greedy.
