Discussing Suzanne's game before and mentioning how it was my favourite game so far in the shows history got me thinking, what are everyone's favourite shows that they've seen? Of course, many people will opt for the "big money" wins, but what about the very eccentric players that won modest amounts, but were thoroughly entertaining? Or the dramatic games that ended in blue or low red victories, but made your heart stop? I'm interested to hear your thoughts. I think a top 5 would suffice. Mine would be, in ascending order:

5. £250k Laura
4. 1p Corinne
3. Farmer Clive
2. £250k Alice
1. £250k Suzanne

Thoughts and preferences?

I'm mostly going for "da old skool" on this one, and am also focussing on entertaining games rather than big wins (in no order):

1. Lance.
2. Farmer Clive.
3. Mad Sarah.
4. Stevie.
5. Di Please.
6. Doreen.

There have also been some more recent ones like Archie, Tomas, etc... but the ones above are still fresh in my mind.

Oh and I'll add another one - my game. :biggrin Although I found myself to be a bit of an idiot, so it's not in my favourites list.

But in terms of memorable games, rather than just entertaining ones, these are my favourites...

1. Bunney
2. £100k Betty
3. £250k Alice
4. £250k Suzanne
5. 1p Corinne
6. £75k Daniel

Well until today, Dale's £100k win was my favourite game ever (although my presence in the audience makes me a tiny bit biased). Today's game is probably the only game I would have swapped my seat in the Dream Factory for Dale's game to see another one.

You can't not start with Suzanne, the only organic £250k win there has been or likely will be.

If Lance and Bunney had their games spread over an hour, I think one or both may just have topped even Suzanne's, as they were huge wins that were also hugely comedic affairs. And the funniest game ever is surely Clive's, while Corinne's deserves a mention for the single greatest jaw-dropping moment (I think the final gamble stunned even the people who heard the spoiler).

Dave just did a couple of comments up mate! ;)

And, even though Suzanne's game yesterday was absolutely brilliant gameplay wise, I still think Dale's game is my absolute favourite, purely because of his brilliant attitude and the fact that he stood out on the wings for it. Whereas Suzanne, as someone pointed out on the game thread, was very quiet and hardly anyone really noticed her until yesterday!

You may disagree, but that's my opinion, and I hope you respect it. ;)

Think the best I can do is choose one from each season, so:

1: Melanie (£30k third-round deal which turned out perfectly than probably not many people remember) ;-)
2: £87k Lance (with Tax-Free Harry and Owl Derek coming close)
3: Farmer Clive
4: David h2005
5: Corinne
6: Suzanne! (or Tomas for comedy)

I see what you mean about Dale being more anticipated and noticeable as a player, hogwild, but taken in isolation Suzanne's game was better yet (although Dale's was perhaps more tense due to the prospect of disaster to the end).

I meant, in terms of my post, that you have to take Suzanne's as the starting point for "best game ever" discussion really - as in "it's the obvious choice, but is there a game that beats it?". Because there were things Suzanne's game didn't have, like jeopardy to the bitter end, or hysterical laugh-out-loud comedy.

The other reason I preferred Suzanne's game to Dale's is that the latter had the faint whiff of Endemol picking a player who was both impossible to dislike sensibly and very low in risk-aversion, thus creating the ability to create further conflation of "courage" in its clearly positive sense with "courage" as a synonym for low risk-aversion (and the implication of seeing the latter as positive). Apart from the odd reference to "determination" in Suzanne when really she got to 4-box through awful offers and onwards through being in a delighted daze, there was none of that yesterday, so I felt that game was more unequivocally lovely for me :)

I'd put Dale above all 3 250k wins as I knew about all 3 in advance, yet Dale's came as a complete shock to me.

Hmmm. Possible top 5 and also down to 10

1. 250K Suzanne
2. 87K Lance
3. 107K Claudine
4. 75K Kirsty
5. 101K Graeme

6. 85K Rodney
7. 120K Jennifer
8. 75K Daniel
9. 75K Amy
10. 1p Corinne.

Could probably add more games like 20K Morris, Alice, Laura into the top 20.
