Here's something that I've been thinking about for a while, but never got round to looking. In theory, the amounts inside boxes are placed randomly in each game, so there should be no advantage in choosing one box over another, and no noticeable trends in the long run. But can the players' behaviour change depending on what they perceive as a trend in the short-run?
I'd like to know how an individual is affected by seeing good and bad games, and see if, even unconsciously, how that affects their own game. What I'm going to do is, from today, keep track of an extensive amount of information about what amounts are in each box; how much the players win; how frequently they deal at a certain point, for example, and see if that information can be used to determine what a player will be inclined to do.
The first person to be profiled will be today's newbie. I don't know who that will be, so will have no bias in whom is chosen. Stats will be tracked in the
stats forum post, and when that person plays their game, the newbie of that game will then be profiled, and so on. Might make it more regular if it's of use.
Any requests for specific stats should be posted here! Hopefully this'll be of interest to all involved.
