I understand that it is a feature to keep mentioning it to increase the interest in the show and I can see the "psychological" effect of possibly getting the lowest amount however.....it is ridiculous that, otherwise, sane people are happy when they remove the "50p" or the "£1 " but are hysterical when they remove the "1p" !!

It's just one of the trademarks of the show I think. Although Noel does sometimes place too much significance on the "banker's power 5" (i.e. 1p - £5), when you consider that all of the blues are pretty much the same when compared to the larger reds!

I can see what you mean, and yes, it is rather strange. When all is said and done, every blue amount up until about £250 is close to worthless anyway.

In fact, previously it could even be considered better to win 1p rather than a fiver, for example, because of the comedy value. Of course, now that we have 33 1p winners, that novelty has worn off somewhat...

The 1p Kiss is seriously getting on my nerves. I'm sure it was funny seeing two blokes kiss each other before but having seen that for the next 200 or so times, it's really getting old. ENOUGH!

Well I'm afraid I agree with BankerSpanker - the male-on-male 1p kiss is rather tiresome now.

But, of course, Noel clearly loves it and will probably never stop insisting that it's done, and done properly...

How come he almost never insists on female-on-female 1p kisses, though? I can only presume he finds two ladies kissing much less fun...

I agree, it's got too OTT now. Noel acts as though it's really funny to see 2 men kissing, he acts as if it's something strange or naughty, I can't help thinking it's a bit disrespectful to gay men.

I also noticed that the 1p kiss rarely happens if it's between 2 women or a man and a woman.

I hate that you have brilliant points here. If I played at any point, I would want a strong board that still had the 1p, and to Deal, so I won a life-changing sum of money without needing to do the 1p kiss...

...or a female to have it, which seems to cause less hullabaloo...
