Here's a couple more problem-related questions, this time about that most tricky of things in Deal: banker's gambles. Could you make a decision under pressure? Would Noel stop talking to let you think? :p

1. The board is as follows:

£1
£5
£10
£50
£100
£250
£500

£100,000

The banker offers you £1,000, and in addition, if you deal and the £100k remains at 2-box, you are guaranteed the banker's gamble.

Do you deal or no deal?

2. Board at 3-box:

£1
£100

£250,000

The banker calls, and decides to give you an offer, but he doesn't say what the offer is. An envelope is delivered from a member of staff, containing the offer, which is placed sealed on the pound table. You have a choice of dealing the mystery offer, or no dealing.

If you deal, you'll find out how much the mystery offer is. The banker's gamble is guaranteed at 2-box.

If you no deal, you'll receive an offer at 2-box, and find out what the amount was in the envelope.

He could offer you anything. Deal or no deal?

1. No deal - I'd rather risk the £1,000 (and possible BG) and try to deal £8k/£9k at 5-box.
2. No deal, unless I could be sure that the banker was putting a sensible offer in the envelope!

1. No Deal. The only way the Banker's Gamble helps you there is if you have £100k all along, and if you're playing for that you might as well chase it in the box - besides, you may get a dealable later offer in doing so!
2. No Deal. I'm assuming a joke offer will come here, and that produces precisely the same logic as situation 1.

1 - No Deal.
2 - Deal, (just because i'd be nosey to see what the offer is) then i'd definitely take the Bankers Gamble if the QM remains.

1) No deal. (only a 1/4 chance of the £100k staying until 2 box)

2) No deal as I wouldnt trust the mystery offer not to be a joke and I'd rather take the 2/3 chance on the next box than the chance that the offer was a joke and I'd be forced to gamble.
