Noel Edmonds to star in new sitcom

Noel Edmonds may star in a new sitcom, it emerged today. The 61-year-old, who presents hit gameshow Deal or No Deal, apparently wants to become an actor to provide a new challenge in his life. Chief executive of the company producing the sitcom, Steve McLeod, said, “Everyone wants to see Noel act in a sitcom!”.

Actors confirmed to be taking part include the upcoming Julie Bazalgette, Peter Dolphin, Katie Chivers and Andy Hutchinson. McLeod’s current productions, which are aired on digital channels, include hits such as the astronomical series Frederick Chancellor’s Guide to The Universe and the gardening series Bernard Bourdillon's Guide to Herbs.

McLeod remained evasive about his sitcom. “It’s called Life in the Fast Lane, and the joke is that it’s about anything but life in the fast lane. I’ve had a major broadcaster approach me about it, and that’s all I’m telling you!”, he said. He also explained how his production company For-A-Pillo was named. “I named the company after Noel’s racehorse, Lor-A-Pillo. I’m a big fan of Noel”, he stated.
