Hi there,

I have to get this off my chest!
I have nothing against bald/shaven/skin head men (my father's one for a start) :D ,
but has anyone else noticed that for the last couple of months on Deal or No Deal, there
hasn't been a single game where there hasn't been one on there?

I was waiting for Kevin and Steve (there were a few others before that too, but dont
recall their names) to go out of the game, then came along
Huddy (Mr knowall)........ we finally got rid of him last week, that left John and Shahid
who are both on the verge of leaving sooner or later, then today
we have YET another one called "Spiro".
Whens it going to end? By the time Spiro gets to play, there'd probably
be one or two new ones!

If you did a random poll of men in the street, it'd probably be
a lot less than one in eleven with shaved heads. Maybe one in 20.

It's like the selection panel's doing it on purpose! Maybe they're trying
to make it vogue or 'in'. The new 'deal or no deal look' . sdgthju

As I said , nothing against them, but why is there ALWAYS a skinhead
there? Maybe its a secret rite of passage to the game! Where they give
you a bonus for shaving your head!

I'd be equally annoyed if there was ALWAYS a gingernut, or wheelchair bound, heavily bearded guy, or
whatever.

Its like they're trying TOO HARD to have a broad range of
different types of people and ethinicities presented at any one time.

It's not necessary!
Dont' worry, we won't be offended if the whole 22 contestants were
all white causians. Or all Indian. or mainly Black, wheelchair bound, obese or all size zero.
It's the 21st century!
The selection process certainly isn't as random as it should be. Its too carefully
chosen.

Aside from that, the rules seem to be bending ridiculously during
the game lately........obviously the banker is getting bored with the same
old games and makes up new rules as he goes!!

The 'randomly' picked contestant always happens to have some sob story too.
Life's hard for everyone! Crying on TV won't increase your chances of winning much!

And why is it sponsored by two stupid cows with scouser accents everytime
it goes to a break! AAAARGH. I don't even know why i watch the program.
I guess I'm just desperate to see the first male quarter millionaire thats all,
....I never saw the two games where 250,000s were won. (by women)

This is my one and only post, it'll probably get me booted off straight away but i dont
really care!

You won't get booted off for sharing your opinion. :D

I think it's obvious that any current set of contestants has people from all walks of life in it - you get a roughly proportionate number of men and women, as well as young/old, people from ethnic minorities, disabled people, gay and lesbian people and so on. I think they legally have to have a certain split of these factors, to ensure they aren't accused of being unequal (although they had a brief period of unequal numbers of men/women during the Battle of the Sexes!).

I doubt baldness is a consideration though, but it's true that there are quite a few bald men on the show. :ponder: I suppose the players with lots of hair make up for those who don't have much of it.

It's the 21st century!

But the idea of equality is also the idea of inclusion - i.e. including everyone from these different 'groups'. So having a dis-proportionate number of wheelchair-bound people would actually be unequal. I think the show has always made a good job of ensuring there's a good mix of people on the show.

Exactly, there's always been a good mix of contestants. That's what makes it great.

For a while (don't want to soudn racist) there wasn't many femaile of other ethnic origins but then there was Kim, Jessica, Roopa, Neide and Sonia. Also after 4 long years we finally have another person called BERYLLLLL. She'll never match up to the original though.

There was another Beryl who played just after the summer break in 2008. She was almost as cautious as her namesake though! :)
