I've noticed that DOND is very inclusive of most people, different races, disabled people, people of obviously different religions with turbans etc. But I see few ginger haired people. I struggle to remember a contestant of Bianca from Eastenders like appearance.

Well, this is kind of a joke post, I am half Asian after all, but I have actually clocked this. I fail to remember more than one or two truly ginger haired people. And by this I don't mean those blessed with auburn hair, I mean real carrot tops (which can also be a blessing, it's pretty after all), but am I just forgetting them or are they really so rare? I just think back to the games I have watched and I can't remember many true gingers playing. I know there will have been people with reddish hair, but true ginger haired people, as in bright orangish hair with freckles, Bianca style. I can hardly recall one. Maybe I have just forgotten though.

But I really can't remember more than one or two though. I remember one or two people vaguely, but there are obviously loads of non-white people on DOND, which is obviously a good thing. But I just wonder what percentage of the population is a true ginger. I hope no one thinks I am just taking the piss, I'm not. While I think it is easier overall to be a ginger-haired white person than a non-white person, I do think there is a hidden discrimination against ginger haired white people on DOND.

This doesn't mean there is any genuine love of non-white or disabled people of course, it just means people know they have to include them, whereas there are no social rules saying the true ginger haired, freckled person has to be included in anything, because they ultimately just fall under the white category, despite any discrimination against them.

Strangest thread ever.

There have been some ginger contestants; Matt and Woody from earlier in the year spring to mind.

I'm not sure what proportion of the population has ginger hair though...

Also I think Linda had ginger hair too (the little one who played some years ago; Noel dropped the phone during her game).

By the way, apparently 4% of people have ginger hair (according to Google) so in theory there should've been about 50 ginger-haired contestants.

Alasdair was another one!

Yes I know it was a bit strange. I tend to write slightly stranger things after a few glasses of vino. Sorry, I didn't mean any offence. But I still maintain that I have seen only a couple of contestants with truly ginger hair and a freckled complexion. There is a woman in the wings now with red hair, can't recall her name, but she still has more auburn hair. But then maybe there are relatively few people in the population with truly ginger hair and freckles.

But I do think they tend to go for a certain look that appears over and over again. The small, cute, girly dark-haired girl, the buxom blonde, the funny bald-headed guy, the slightly racially ambiguous good-looking person. Of course there are loads of others as well, and overall it is very varied, but I do notice certain types appearing again and again.

For example, there is a girl now in the wings who looks very similar to Laura, who won 35k. Very small, dark-haired, pretty and girly-looking. Yet I recall few small blondes of the same ilk. The blondes tend to be taller and and not uber-girly. Maybe not particularly more buxom as I said, hehe, but just not with the same fragile look.

Don't know, maybe I am just imagining it, or my memory is failing me...

God, have I really posted the strangest thread ever? I knew the next day it wasn't too good, but the weirdest out of the whole forum...? I suppose I went a bit over the top saying it might be a discrimination thing though.
