Av it large! ;)

There'll be someone this year won't there? Hopefully not as unlucky as Lisa!

...Aaaaaaand almost 6 years later, this thread is being resurrected.

6/4/06 - Sandra played.

A fairly average opening round, hitting one of the Banker's power 5 and one of her power 5 warranted a somewhat conventional opening offer of £3,100. Obviously, it was declined. After an almost perfect all blue second round - featuring the 1p & the 50p - the Banker tried (and failed) to buy the box for an unfair (based on the board) sum of £8,900, which would definitely be more than complained about these days. Anyway - Sandra had her second all blue round in a row which also included the two remaining Banker's power 5! Either the Banker in those days didn't have a clue about stats or he just thought he could get Sandra incredibly cheap, but he offered her a measly £14,200. After some thought, this was turned down, however; Sandra would definitely come to regret this after the run of shocking amounts which were about to be taken out of the game.

£10 in the first box after the NO DEAL turned out to be a false dawn, as the jackpot was taken out in the very next box - followed by a low red. The offer was unreasonably lowered to £9,900 (this game was a statisticians nightmare!), and hastily rejected by Sandra. Things could only get better, right? Nope, for a gutting round was about to be had, consisting of the £75,000, £15,000 and a consolation blue. Surprisingly, the offer was actually raised to (considering the lack of generosity of the previous offers) a quite decent £12,900. Sandra, realising it was probably the right time, dealt. Only thing was, it definitely was NOT the right time, because what followed was the most gutting perfect proveout round which would have left Sandra which a guaranteed £50,000 and £100,000 up for grabs. The offer was a hypothetical £71,000, which I'm guessing would have been turned down. Noel then opened Sandra's box 4 to reveal £100,000, rubbing the metaphorical salt in to the metaphorical wound. Shocker. But it was a bloody well entertaining battle! :D

Hmm, let's see:

This year: Mike. A total trainwreck, and unavoidable 10p box win. :(

Last year: Niko. Great character, entertaining game, cautious deal that went horribly wrong. :(

2011: Crystal. An emotional, low tariff game, £5,000 swapped for £1 IIRC. :(

2010: Neide. A £30,000 OPW. :D

2009: Our very own h2005! :D :smt023

Indeed it was, for I remember it well! And the summary wasn't too shabby either, very good in fact! :smt023

Let's see....I remember 10/01 2007 or 2008. A man called Don played. I think he had a bit of a trainwreck, highest offer £10,001, dealt £1,001. Something like that. :ponder:

16/06:

2006 - TWO games in one day!

1. Ron played the 200th game on this day. He played all the way to 2-box with £20,000 and a blue left. The Banker made an insultingly low offer of £5,200 which Ron declined. He also declined the swap and Noel reveal £20,000 in his box for a spanking! :D

2. Chrissie - Dealt £8,853 at 5-box. In the final round it looked as if she was going to miss out on big money when two blues we're revealed. Luckily she found the £100,000 in the final box and there was just 50p on the table. :) Not a Banker spanking as her highest offer was £10,000.

2007 - No game

2008

Sylvia - Dealt a reasonable £12,500 at 5-box with £250k and 4 very low blues. However, she managed the all-blue round after that and missed out on a £50,000 offer. Her bad luck continued when she had £250,000 in her box. :(

2009

Cuffy - Dealt a very generous £15,000 at 5-box with £50k, £35k, £15k and 2 blues left. However, he kept the £50k to the end with a guaranteed £15k left too. Fortunately, £15,000 was in his box resulting in a DRAW! :o

2010

Sonia - At 5-box she had £100k, £35k, £1k and 2 blues remaining. She declined a very generous £17,500. Unfortunately she took out the £100k in the last box and was left with £35k & 10p. She declined £10,000 at this point. The Banker offered the swap and Sonia took it and ended up with just 10p! :o :(

2011

Zoleika - Made a loss cutting deal at £1,700 at 2-box with £50 & £5,000 left. Noel did the hypo-swap and £5,000 would've been in her box. :(

2012 - No game

I'm hoping for a good game on my birthday in 2013! :)

30th October - yay during Halloween week!

2006 - Ah a guy called Lee, a namesake of mine. Reading the commentary, is seems he had pretty horrible offers, and went home with £750.

2007 - Tina. She took out the QM in the first box, but after getting the TREAT she eventually dealt as 2-box for £25K. She hypo-swapped to leave just 500 quid on the table.

2008 - Chris. He dealt at 8-box (I think from reading the commentary?) at £8,000 (funnily enough), before No-Dealing the BG, with £20K in the box.

2009 - Gary. This was the first full season I watched DOND, so therefore the first game I had seen on my birthday. Even though he found the TREAT, his game fell apart, and dealt a "Box Trick", which let the banker look in his box. After no-dealing the normal offer, he dealt an AMO of £4,000, with £750 on the table.

2010 - No Show. Pity, my "depression era" had just started, too...

2011 - Tony in the first Bankenstien's Monsters special. He failed the Cataput twist (no wonder) so the banker looked in his box. He dealt £17K at 2-box, and after a hypo-swap finished with £50K on the table.

2012 - Richie played and had an absolute shocker of a game. Even though he got a holiday courtesy of the "Show Me the Mummy" twist, he left with just £50 after swapping.

I was born on New Year's day, so mine are:

Frank (£33,316) - OPW! :-D
Glen (£100)
Alex (£750)
Haz (£12,000) - Had £50,000 in box
Jacques (50p)
Lloyd (£19,000) - Could've had £30,000 if he went another round

Pretty unlucky date to play really apart from Frank. 3 trainwrecks, 1 undersold box, and a player dealing a round too soon! Then there were the 2 occasions where the first show of the year was on January 2nd, which resulted in Marilyn underselling a £75,000 after dealing for £11,000 and Irene winning just £5 after being the first swappy player!

Oh my god... A Jacques actually played this game.

50p, though. Not what a Jacques should aim to win by any means :smt011

2013 - Iola played in the Freaky Fun Fayre specials. Like Richie the year before, she also won a holiday. She however had a much better game, winning £17,000 but missing out on the guv'nor with £750 on the table.

2014 - Well, we'll have to wait until a week on Thursday to see ;)

16/06

2013 - Ryan - After declining a stingy £26,000 at 8-box he took out £300,000 in the following round but was still given a very generous £16,000 which he sensibly dealt at. He then took out £75,000, £20,000 & £1,000. He would've been left with £5 / £15,000. :D

2014 - Cherish - Declined an insultingly low offer of £3,007 at a £1 / £20,000 finish but had the former in her box. Box 23 only doubled her winnings to just £2 :(

Ryan JUST missed out on having to face the mid-2013/early 2014 super derisory Banker :D while Cherish played at the tail end of his reign. :( :smt011 ;)
