What do people have against box 22?? Sure it's had it's share of biggies, but so has every other box! This is almost a fan club (I think!)

Anyone wanna join?

Yes I'll join you.

I have always thought that if I was a contestant I would pick the boxes in order 1 to 22. I have only seen that done once and even he bypassed a favourite number to keep to the end.

This system would illustrate my belief in logic and statistics over superstition and psychic prediction.
But then the 22nd is my birthday  :suspect: ;)

Yeh I will join the box 22 recognition society as I am able to recognise box 22 due to it being a red box with a number 22 on it   :laughing :smt047

Think the death box saying (which is all that it is and 22 doesnt have big values any more than any other box) is now part of the show just like the curse of the newbie (which also is not really always true either) and old faithful (£26k offer) and is going to be around for a long time I think....makes the box unique doesnt it as no other box has anything like that......except maybe unlucky 13 but that has been around a lot longer than DOND has.

Anyway saw a repeat show today on more4 and box 22 had the 1p 8) 8) while player still in live play.

Does anyone have the statistics for box 22. Has it had more 1p or more bankers power 5 whenit came to the table?
Or is the reputation the other way has it had more reds wrecking games?

And it was lucky he did as it contained the quarter million!

I've just checked what 22 had in my game and I've only just realised I left it to the end! It wasn't intentional though, it just happened to end up being left to the end when doing my diagonal box pair system.

It had £20,000 for me....

Box 22 doesn't have high amounts any more than any other box, and indeed, has had the 250k considerably less than other boxes (2, 3, 4, 7, 11 and 12), so I don't get the reason why it's a 'death box'.

As it happens, I absolutely hate the number 22 and would take box 22 out first in my game.

In my opinion, box 22 is a box. To me, it is one box of the twenty-two that are used in the gamshow Deal or No Deal. It's painted red, and like the other boxes has a seal on it, and a white placard on which a number is written. In this case, the number 22. Box 22, for me, is a box that is opened at some point in the gameshow Deal or No Deal.

That's the only significance it has for me, I'm afraid. Does seem awkward to be posting in a fanclub thread to say you won't join, but I thought I should say exactly why I won't join.

Sorry mate. I hope I haven't broken your heart into 22 tiny pieces.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

I do think that different numbers mean different thing to different people. But the outcome can never be certain. Take Alice's game for instance. Her 'lucky' number was 3. She left it to the end and it had the penny, she had to choose whether to pick a number which means a lot to HER or to stay with the number fate had decided to give her. Thank God she chose fate over belief or else the outcome would have been very different.
The number 22 can mean a lot to people, whether they see it as 'lucky' or 'unlucky', there is no proof that any one number is luckier or unluckier than the rest so it's up to you. Fate or Belief.
Some numbers can have bad reputations, 'Death Box' 'Unlucky Thirteen' but the pattern never fits completely. What people need to keep in mind is that it is totally random. Fate doesn't know which numbers you like or dislike so the chance of the pattern fitting is completely random, as so many aspects of the game is.
I therefore will not join the fan club, as 22 is netiher lucky or unlucky for me. Now it there was an 11 fan club, (personally I find 11 EVIL as so many bad things in my life have involved an 11, even if thats purely down to amazing coincidence - I'm not taking any chances.) I would consider joining.

I see what people are saying about it just being a box, but 22 is just randomly significant to me. People are saying they hate box 22 which I do understand, because I personally loathe box 20 because whenever I play the board game, DVD game or the online game, it kills my board.

Thanks to Granitecitybino and Kagga for joining! Any others..?

Also, yellow Zebra would you actually join the Box 11 Alliance if I made it??

Number 20 is my mums lucky number. She got born, engaged, married and even gave birth to me in room 20 at the hospital! That just goes to show that some people like certain numbers whilst others hate the same number. The number can't be both lucky and unlucky and must have been on the opposite end of the spectrum for either parties for them to each have that particular opinion about it... if you understand :S

Yes I think I might actually join a Box 11 fan club. As 11 is a number that I personally notice.

I would like to make clear that I joined this fan club because I thought box 22 didn't deserve its repuation or nickname not because I think it is any luckier/prettier/cleverer than any others ;)

Hehe...."I like box 22 because it's reaaallllllllllllllllllllllllly pretty....." hahaha....

Sorry. I don't mean to offend Box-22-fanciers, despite the fact they deserve it.

Mad Sarah once associated box 22 with food and France, so from that point of view, it might seem quite pretty.
