I think it's May 12th isn't it? I suspect they'll be doing another birthday banker week like they did last year.

Yes, they've definitely got a week of specials coming up - the week of 11th-17th May :)

Does anyone know if they do the same twists with the cards as they did last year? Especially you got to take one out for an all-red round? I rather liked that even though there was really only one very good game out of them (Tom's) - Mark's could have been good with one to open too if his highest amount left by the time he got there was more than £3,000!!! :)

I know the theme for this year's Birthday Week as I posted it on Bother's Bar but don't know about the card twist.

The cards could be interesting. I remember in Tom's game he guessed that the bomb card was the right one and the banker said yes it is. He was trying to convince Tom that it wasn't right one. We have seen the banker bluff so many times and I think that there could be more of it.

The way it was hinted at today, it seems like it will be the standard one-to-open twist from 5-box guaranteed, although they could incorporate the cards into it in other ways.

I suppose they don't have a Noel birthday week because it would clash with Scrooge or Santa...

Noel said that the players would be given an "opportunity" to get an offer after every box, sort of implying that they may not get the opportunity if they don't find the right birthday card or something...

I'm sure he could have 2 birthdays. The Queen can so why can't Noel?!

I got so used to watching the contestants in their clown make-up today (and Noel looking pretty weird) that it seemed odd when they cut to a shot of some ‘normal’ people in the audience.

This is an actual scientific phenomenon. Is you’re watching animation, for example, your brain comes to accept the characters’ appearance as ‘normal’, and it’s only if you see them alongside real people that you realise ‘normal’ human beings don’t look like that at all.

(There’s a Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons which illustrates this quite well, where Homer becomes 3D and materialises in the real world. Suddenly the 2-dimensional yellowness that our brains had come to accept looks wrong.)
