Despite the fact that I knew the outcome of Laura's game and not that of today's. it has to be Laura's because of it being the first £250k win and it being a riskier gamble (despite having the £3k as backup)

Alice's by a mile. The biggest possible gamble.

Alice's because I didn't know about it before and I was sure she had the 1p :D

I think Alice's was better as it was unexpected, although both were given a big helping hand by the Banker and both were fairly unremarkable games until part 3, although that last point is true for most big wins I suppose!

I'd like to see a "true won" £250k next time, where the contestant turns down challenging offers (though not necessarily ridiculous gambles) to go all the way. Not sure it's likely with the current economic situation, but if we get the right combination of player and board who knows?

Alice's without a shadow of a doubt.

First, I didn't have any idea it was going to happen (unexpected) whereas Laura's was known for months before.

Secondly, I missed the first showing of Laura's game (watched it via tape). Watching it "live" as such also adds so much.

Quite a tough one. I'd probably edge towards Laura's win just, as she was the first winner, even though we all knew about it. And the gamble was far greater, and it was a brave decision despite many commenting it was a rubbish offer, she still had to have the nerve to turn it down, whereas today's was a pretty much cast iron no brainer.

Alice's probably due to the surprise and possibly controversy. I agree with power5 - I'd like to see the 250K won 'Morris style' though.

One day I suspect we'll see the swap-only final offer on a £250k pair as well!

I preferred Alice's game because I didn't know the result. I knew that something special was going to happen, but not what it was. Laura's was good, but I'd heard almost all the details of her game beforehand so it wasn't as exciting.

I'd say Alice, purely because it hadn't been leaked and I thought she was going to get the Bankers Gamble and win a penny.

It's funny, I nearly didn't watch yesterday (I usually watch it on Virgin Media's 'catch-up' service). I checked this forum just before I went to bed and noticed that Alice's in-game thread had 13 pages so I knew it must have been pretty special, so decided to put off my bedtime by an hour to watch!

Glad I watched it now!

A gameshow is the place where economic situations are thrown to the wind. If only there were more of these places.

I went for Alice.

Both were brilliant, it's a very close call, but I voted Laura.

Tough call. Laura as she was the first to win it (even though there were many spoilers).

Alice's game though was very different with the use of the Banker's Gamble and the fact it was the 1p vs £250,000.

Both classic games in their own rights.
