Have we seen the last of the banker offering £26,000 as "old faithful" to entice contestants into an early deal? I've noticed we haven't had it for a while, even with boards you would have expected it.

I was thinking about this yesterday at the £25k offer. It does seem to have dropped off the radar on DoND over the past few weeks. It was always used as the guaranteed deal offer by the banker and over the past few months there havent actually been any players getting near an offer like that either by dealing to soon or not having the board...

Wether it's gone or not probably depends on when the luck changes...

There've been plenty of boards lately where he could have offered it but everyone's so cautious that he doesn't need to as they'll go for far less... :?

I wouldn't mind it being it used again - it would still be better/more dealable than recent feeble cop outs.

All it will take is someone to mention £26,000 and it will return with a vengance.

He doesn't need it at the moment, because unfortunately contestants are selling very strong boards for much less.

Yeah I don't think he needs to go as high as that as he can probably offer £20,000 or less and the offer will still be dealt. I doubt we've seen the last of it though.

I doubt we've seen the last of it, but the Banker knows that he doesn't need to go that high now.

I actually miss the "old faithful".

It will come back. It's nice though to have a break from it.

Actually who was the last person to be offered £26,000?! I was just looking through the Today's Show threads and can't find anyone I remember being offered it since around April when I started watching regularly again...

So was Beastly Brian after taking his 29k. I have no recollection of it popping up since. It seems 20k or if you're lucky 25k (for Steve and Sue) gets offered instead!

He hasn't needed to use it with this recent bunch of hopeless board readers. They've all got DEAL plastered on their foreheads in big red letters and the banker is secretly pi$$ing himself by getting them out of the chair for pathetically low offers.

He will use the 26k again when he comes up against a more astute bunch than this latest lot of losers - players who know how to read the board and hopefully play the game to its maximum potential.

He'll use it again, but only if he's faced with a gambler with a strong board. So with the way things are going, I don't think it'll be used again for a while yet!
