Summer break is only a week away, and given the scarcity of OPWs, who is looking forward to it?

Well, it's three weeks away for a start :D And yeah, I think it's good to have a break now and then. However, I don't think it means there'll be any change in luck, because there was no break in filming - they continued the next day with the post summer break shows after having a 'five-week' summer break :D

I am looking forward to it as the recent run of games hasn't exactly inspired me to want to look forward to the next episode.

And NO break of any sort will have an effect on luck - what could happen though is a filming break might help people to forget bad games and so on. The only way of ensuring a potential change in everyone's attitudes though is to totally replace the 22 with a new set - which obviously won't happen.

The biggest change in attitudes is likely to occur between the pre-Christmas and post-Christmas episodes, as they will have been filmed 4 months apart - the former in June 2008, and the latter in October 2008 - and therefore any bad games will hopefully have been forgotten and they'll start from a "clean slate".

It will stop me having this obsession to try and watch the show on the same day on catch up or 40d. A little break will be nice to be honest yes.

Its going to make no difference untill at least after the summer break filming where some of the negativity among the players at that time might have fizzled. All games pre that will be SOS!

Well whilst I can't deny I won't miss the show I think in general it'll be good for the show. Not in terms of it improving or whatever but in terms of giving viewers a break and hopefully a renewed interest when it returns.

Does anyone know what is the replacing the show during it's break?

No idea, but I hope it's Win My Wage again. I really enjoyed that. I'm quite looking forward to the Summer Break, the last few months have been frustrating, with bad deals and people who do go for it bringing blues or low reds to the table. Last year, after the break, I enjoyed the show more, as I hadn't seen it for a month. Perhaps the same thing will happen again.

I don't think Win My Wage was very popular and it didn't get very high ratings - so I doubt that'll be coming back again which is a shame for me as I personally enjoyed it. The name of DOND's replacement during the summer break was floating around on here a while ago but I've forgotten it now.

PLEASE can they put some old games on More 4 in the 6:10 slot like they did in 2006? ANY era from 05, 06 or 07 would be loads better than what we're getting now!

I only ever watched Win My Wage a couple of times and I never really got into.

I know Terry Wogan has a new quiz show coming to Channel 4, but that's a replacement for Richard & Judy.

I seem to remember something about Jamie Theakston and a quiz :?

I'm with you on that one, it might show viewers who are new to watching DOND how good it was back then.
Then again, it probably won't...

That's a good idea, can't they repeat classics from 2005 and May- Jul 07 as I can't remember them. :?

Looks like we're getting a quiz/memory test thing similar to ITV flop Perseverance. WITH TERRY WOGAN!

It'll be worth it if an Eastern European immigrant gets on the show and wins big (just to see Terry's reaction) but otherwise I expect it to be rubbish...

 Haha!

I heard Wogan was doing a 4-week run of a quiz show but I read it was to replace R&J when their final series finishes in the autumn, not that it was to replace DOND. :?

I'm just speculating, but perhaps they will have Wogan's new show replace DOND on the summer break as a kind of trial period, and if it's a success, then it'll replace R&J.

I'll probably watch cricket on the telly instead, but to be honest I'd be happier if Deal or no deal continued with no break.
Although it is best for it to have a break to keep it fresh.

I am. It's good for the show as people are getting a bit sick of the show now. I think it gets getting a bit boring aswell.

But when it does return it will be exactly the same as the last show before the summer break was filmed on the same day of the summer return.
