I've been thinking about posting this for a while so here it goes:

If you were on the wings, what sort of player would you be? Would you be a stats person, an advice giver or someone who remained quiet but opened up in their game?

Is this specifically what you'd be on the wings? Or what you'd be in your game?

Anyway on the wings I'd probably just be quiet but occasionally give advice, probably only if asked.

In my game, I'd be more analytical than gambler, and wouldn't have a target, although turning down sums above £20,000 would be difficult, but I'd do it if the board was strong enough.

More on the wings really. I only mentioned the game in the context of someone quiet becoming a character in their game.

Yes, I'd be very quiet on the wings, mainly because of being a nervous wreck, rivalling Justin and Suzi in the nervousness stakes.

I don't know...I might be nervous like what Greeny just suggested, or I could just try and involve myself as much as I could possibly be...though not on a Dave scale! ;)

I would be quite a quiet player on the wings. I would give advice if anyone asked and I would join in with any jokes that may occur and generally enjoy the whole experience and have fun. But I wouldn't go out of my way to be seen as i'd no doubt feel a bit of a fool and cringe when I see myself on TV.

I guess if I were to liken myself to a player i'd be a bit like Justin.

Other: I'd probably be the resident crier/emotional wreck, but minus the sob story. If I was asked to give advice, I'd probably just say something stupid.

I'd be the statsman.

I wouldn't give too much advice as such, merely provide the players the information they need (in terms of the odds of given events and maybe possible future offers) to make an informed decision. I'm increasingly of the opinion that the only bad decision on DoND is an uninformed decision - if you know what you're letting yourself in for but do it anyway because that's the way you value money, then fine, your money. It's people who blindly chase either the big reds or a target that infuriate me - neither of those is 'playing the game'. Weighing up the board and deciding whether the offer is more than the board is worth for you, that's playing the game.

But I digress. I'd be the statsman.

I'd be quiet, but have my moments as well. I'd love to annoy Noel by shouting at him "WE DIDN'T WANT TO SEE THAT ONE" and stuff like that. I'd also like to tell the banker that he's a big pile of *beep* for offering so many rubbish offers for boards and forcing players home with a trainwreck ending. I probably wouldn't though... I wouldn't come up with anything as stupid as "It's my grandson's birthday, this box is..."

Probs a quiet person. I would offer advice but only if they asked. One thing I would deffinately not do though is say to a contestant don't open the box. I think thats really annoying because it always turns out to be a blue (usually) lol.

I'd be quiet on the wings, but wouldn't be in my game.

I think I'd be an advice giver, someone who perhaps a few other players would ask for advice at certain situations. Sort of quiet but saying a certain amount.

Ok. Well in that case, then yes I would be quiet on the wings. In fact I'd probably just be a nervous wreck and would never have got through the audition. :? Assuming I did though, I wouldn't want to be a big character really. Not my personality at all.

ditto but I'd try to be an advice giver and give my honest opinion on the offers. i.e. I think the banker should have offered x grand more etc.

It gives the viewing public a bit of a laugh when that happens! Although, it's funnier when they say it's definately blue and it's the £250k.

Oh, same here, definitely. If it has a blue in it you look silly, and if the contestant ignores your advice, goes for it and it's a large red, then there's an air of "I told you so" about the place, but that's ridiculous as it's all random anyway. So it's a lose-lose situation if you try and guess what's in your box in my view. :?
