We're now officially halfway through the year, so I thought I'd ask what people's opinions of the shows from January to June are.

I stopped watching just after New Year, but from what I've gathered, there was a deaf guy who communicated with sign language, someone called Reg, someone won £100k and some guy called Richard did a silly deal and then no one won over £20k for weeks. And loads of people have won 1p.

What's been the most memorable episodes this year, and who have been the best players? What events have particularly stuck in your mind? That sort of thing!

I created a similar topic a few weeks ago asking for ideas for the advent calendar. Seems rather early but I wanted to get some "inspiration" whilst the first half of 2008 was fresh in everyone's minds. I didn't get many responses in the thread... maybe because people can't think of that many events of 2008 so far... who knows?!

Anyway, the best contestants (in my opinion) between January and June 2008 have probably been Clive (the farmer), Eunice (sweet old lady), Graham (looked like Noel), £100k Betty (great attitude), Reg (1) (slighlty mad), Don (slightly mad), Jess (slightly mad), Tom P (the one in my sig) and Charles (Lance Mk 2).

The best moments so far have been (in no order): The light blowing in Sarah's game (Mar), Reg and the other old blokes doing "power pumping" in front of the board (Feb), Deano hugging Noel (Jun), David and the empty box (Mar), Semi's phone going off and Noel putting it in a cup of water (Feb), the whole of Clive's game (Jan), most of Eunice's game (Apr), Noel rapping in Emjay's game (May), Noel wearing a pink wig in Sylvia's game (Jun) and Betty winning £100k (May).

The most memorable episodes...

Clive (needs no description)
MJ (old lady who turned out to be a gambler and won £41k)
Semi (undealt, swapped and got an OPW)
Joy (painful trainwreck)
Matty (painful but slightly amusing trainwreck)
Boxgate David (dealt at the 3rd offer as well as one of the boxes being empty)
Eunice (amusing show)
Angela (big character transformation from enthusiastic to crying due to self-inflicted trainwreck)
Graham (looked like Noel)
Betty (won £100k)
Tom (fun and enthusiastic!)
Richard (worst deal ever)
Tommii (irritated me no end, but memorable because of that)
Don (crazy)
Sylvia (people randomly crying in her game, Noel wearing the wig and her selling £250k for £12,500 - the lowest ever for the £250k box).

There have been some amazing games so far this year. Betty's, Mavis's and Eunice's to name but a few.

I would have to say my favourite game of the year so far though was Tom's in May. For me, it was a perfect game. One of my favourite players combined with some good entertainment and a decent win.

I'm one of the select few (or perhaps the only one) who really got annoyed with Clive so his game wasn't that great for me.

Worst moments, well Richard's deal is certainly up there. Also 1p Matty's game was hard to watch.

Favourite shows this year... Betty, Clive, the twins, that's about it really. :?

Worst... well, most of the others really. Haven't watched one for about 3 weeks now but it doesn't appear to have got much better recently! Betty's game revived my enthusiasm briefly, I thought it might inspire a new golden era of classic games but instead we got the exact opposite.

'Best' - Possibly Betty - fantastic game and perhaps a few characters like Eunice/Graham but there hasn't been enough 'good' to really pinpoint much. (also a few good games in Feb/March perhaps)

'Worst' - a majority of games since Derek Brown's game but the really annoying thing was Richard's game and the ugly games follwing as part of the '20K thing' (even though that was presumably designed to force/engineer gambling)

And Gemma cause she won a power five after 5 months :)

Worst moments so far:

Well your as weak as him and probably would have done the same thing.

Best moments..... Er not many Bettys £100,000 win and Marias £100,000 win and thats about it.

everything else has been a squander of huge proportions or horrendus sob stories no one cares about when your trying to eat your tea in a evening.
The crying is AWFUL and then you have RICHARD AND HAYLEY and RONNIE and 1K MICHAEL people like this brought the game down to a new low.

Yeah, I probably would have done the same thing...except for the fact that I wouldn't. I'm just sick of seeing utterly ridiculous things like "he's a disgrace to the human race" and "if I were his wife I would leave him" and people blaming him for all the other crap games that have happened since; there were plenty of crap games before him so it's not like he suddenly changed how the show was going, if anything you'd think his game would have encouraged people to gamble as it showed how cautious deals can go wrong. And the £20k prediction crap was the fault of the Banker/producers/whoever and nothing to do with him (although the fact that nobody did win more than £20k for ages suggests maybe his deal wasn't so bad after all, the object of the game is to win money after all and no one won as much as him until Colleen the other day... ;) )

Oh and Maria and £1k Michael were last year, not 2008.

Yer my bad lol I got confused with that season 3 thread of Jiveclives.

As for Richard disgrace to the human race thing It was not me who said that was Basic I think. deffo not me.
I just think he was a disgrace to the game.

Even less was good than in 2008 if I remove Maria.

I think you're the only human being who condones that ghastly deal.

Okay he is not a disgrace to the human race but I've seen more bravery in a flock of sheep as Basic so rightly puts it. He was disgraceful and the po-faced look on his face after the deal really put our annoyance to a all time high.

And if Richard does come on this website (god help us all), he wouldn't be too pleased that people are putting him down for making his own decisions. He was just terrible.

EDIT: I meant encourage as in encouraging bad deals.

Could I just ask how exactly not hating someone who made a god-awful deal means you'd make the same deal? :?

He'd have every right not to be pleased!
