Hi there guys,

Some of you may remember me, I used to be a regular on this forum aaaaaaaaages ago, until I stopped watching the show. (june 2006). Anyway, I've recently started watching the show again, and have rediscovered this forum! So hi!

But this thread is pretty much just to ask...what the hell is wakeyism? Wasn't there a poster once here called wakey123 or something?

Anyway, thanks! :)

Wow, one hell of a return there buddy.

It originates from a poster called wakey1512 who used to have an aggressive attitude towards deals and used to insult players for dealing, but I think looking at the post dates sometime back in 2006 which was a while ago. Wakeyism is simply gambling I think and in favour of opening your own box instead of dealing the nowadays, low offers the banker makes to buy the box. I think a touch of tension seeking is present in viewer wakeyists as they want to see players gamble and have it pay off rather than an average 10- 20k odd deal.

It's in that DOND-ictionary anyway isn't it?

Thanks for that. Bizarrely enough, I think I remember Wakey's attitude towards dealing...but when people mention Noel's attitude to wakeyism, it's just his attitude to early dealing, right? It's just a term used on this forum, not something that Noel uses too :D

Noel's attitude to wakeyism probably being his 'sorta' aggresive mode in proveouts? 'You dealt £26,000 and could have had £100,000. ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND POUNDS. You blew it'. Even though he seems to have gone the other way now with 'Oh make it so sweet and find the big money! Go on!', in a stupid voice. I must say I like the guilt trips as it gives viewers a reason to keep watching to see if they REALLY did blow the big money :D

Well thats a surprise! There wasn't anyone called Wakey123, but I do seem to remember a daniel123. Might change to wakey123 in the future though, it's more fitting to...me, really. A wakeyist.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

That links you to an investigation I carried out in December. Which I will very soon conclude (nudge wink Dan!)
