Seeing as though Noel is always trying to persuade us that the show is live when it obviously isn't, why don't they have a go at doing some (real) live shows? I know it's practically impossible because of the way it's filmed, etc., but in theory it would be possible. Who wants to be a millionaire did it a couple of years ago, and I think they had an interactive phone in for ask the audience. Perhaps DOND could have an interactive phone in asking the viewers whether the contestant should deal or not!!!

I think it would be a good idea - but would be loads of effort. Eg make-up on the playing contestant, the banker phoning, the screen showing the banker's offer having to be typed, audience trouble - everything could practically go wrong!

Having said that, it would be good for a one off.

Do you think someone isn't going to say the F word when the £250k or a big number goes?

I dont. Hence why I dont think live would work.

It would be rather harsh on the contestant playing - they'd be forced to make all their decisions within a short space of time!

No, they shouldnt. If they do that, then they'll probably get a heavy fine for it from OFCOM.

C4/Endemol can afford it! Anyway they would just have to put it on later!

A bigger problem would be finding contestants who could actually spend 3 or 4 weeks filming one show a day...

I think a live Dond would be very good. It may be a bit rough and ready, but then again they did a live show of 'The Bill' and that was pretty good.

Yeah, I actually found a tape the other day where I'd recorded that episode of The Bill! I liked the way they had loads of shots on large, accurately set clocks on the wall to prove it was all live!

My first thought when I read the topic title was the brilliantly acted BILL live. True pros all of them, if I hadn't been told it was live, I doubt I would have guessed.

As for live DOND, not sure it would work, really, cos there's lots of extra bits come out during filming which can be cut out to keep within the alloted time on air, so no, it wouldn't work.

I think it could work though obviously timing would be the biggest problem. If someone's agonising other whether to deal or not they would have to hurry them along. And lots of things could go wrong with live tv but sometimes when things go wrong it makes for better viewing.

what if someone dropped a box, they would have to reshuffle them which would take a while

That's only ever hapepned once! I'm still not even sure how it's possible to knock a box off, and then it opens perfectly, revealing the amount. But it did happen to Tom (the contestant from April or May), so I suppose it could happen again! :?

Well the chances of that happening again are slim (how it happened anyway I don't know).

I've still got that episode on tape and I watched it back so many times just to try and get some clue as to what happend. Ok perhaps you could knock the box off but for it to open up like that just seemed a little strange. But then why would Tom do it on purpose as it would make no sense.
