I saw today that the Wikipedia episode history pages, with details of every game including offers, box amount etc. have been proposed as candidates for deletion - based on the fact that they are "indiscriminate collections of information" etc.

I don't know a great deal about Wikipedia procedures but I'm sure anyone posting in favour of keeping this very useful source of information would help its cause.

Definitely! I've used their info for stats on a regular basis. I really hope it doesn't get deleted.

What the hell does indiscriminate collections of information mean anyway?!

Exactly. What does that mean? I suppose they mean it's supposed to be an encyclopedia, not just a site full of facts and figures.

But, who cares? It's not exactly taking up a lot of server space, is it?

I think the idea of deleting those wiki pages is an idea worthy of the bin.

I certainly hope the tables aren't deleted - I use them often to get information on past DoND games.

Some Wikipedia users are really annoying me at the moment - they seem to think that just being a member of the site gives them the divine right to remove useful pages of information, regardless of whether they disobey copyright restrictions, etc. It's just an online encyclopaedia, not life or death. Idiots!

I've just posted in favour of keeping them.

However, it seems the Wikigeeks are currently winning with their proposal to delete! Your votes would definitely be appreciated.

Don't your votes only count if you're a Wiki-regular?

Article (Series 3): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deal_or_No_Deal%2C_Series_3_%28UK%29

Deletion proposal discussion page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Deal_or_No_Deal%2C_Series_3_%28UK%29_%282nd_nomination%29

Similar pages for Series 1 and 2 are also proposed for deletion (series refers to recording series, so the current one is Elizabeth's game onwards).

(By the way please don't spam or vandalise the deletion page/article, but add as many constructive comments as possible in support of keeping the articles!)

They should keep it, but I am NOT going to get involved.

Sorry

I forgot to ask, what is the problem, sure it is valuable income for stats, but surely there is a website dedicated to DOND with the same stats which is as in depth.

I've voted. However, let's not turn this into a 'ha ha Wikipedia sucks!!' thread...if they're gonna delete this, they might as well delete every other episode guide on Wikipedia, and there's a lot. Don't just post and say "YOU STUPID MORONS ROT IN HELL", as that'd just be making the situation worse.

The guide began in March, so it'd be silly if they deleted it after so many months of no objections.

Exactly, DOND generates interest in these kind of facts unlike just about any other game show. It is in its nature a statistical game. Nobody's likely to compile/read a complete episode history of The Weakest Link for example, but that's not the point, as it's a totally different type of show. If we can have pages of football/cricket stats etc. then why not DOND?
