Barbra who was Marks communicator worked hard throughout his shows and worked a lot of long hours, she had to leave her family behind to help Mark for his complete duration and did a wonderful job.If anyone deserves a chance to sit in the crazy chair she certainly does.Pat

If she wants to be on the show, she'd have to apply like you and everyone else did.

If anyone has been in the audience they can apply to go on the show as a contestant but the dond rules are different for contestants, once you have appeared on the show you are never allowed to set foot on the premises ever again so where does Barbra stand when it comes to applying to go on the show after being Marks communicater?Perhaps H2005 can come up with an answer please.

I didn't see the show but from here I got the impression that Barbara was Mark's wife...have I completely got that wrong then?

Barbara was just Mark's communicator who translated Mark's signing and signed to Mark what others were saying. She was very emotionally attached to him, but nothing more, as far as I know.

Oh right, thanks...well in that case I assume she was paid to be there anyway? So it's not like she's lost out.

If they do it again this year, we could nominate her to be a DOND Christmas Star.

She should just apply. The worst that can happen is that she's told she's not allowed.

Hi, what a wonderful idea,i wish you had been there when they were, she was brilliant., she has such a lot of patients, and does a lot of good work for the deaf service, she deserves to get a chanch of being on the show.it was a one to one with Mark and a one to one with all of us all day and night it,s a wonder she was,nt exhausted.

She was practically in the audience. And also, what gives her any more chance of getting on the show than, say, one of us? All Noel would've had to do was yell at him more than he already yells at everybody else. Barbara had virtually no use.

Still though, I'd love to be in her position...getting to come to 20+ shows and all for free :-D

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

What the hell? Dan, if you bothered to read the posts, then you would see that Barbara was Mark's communicator. He needed her to understand what everybody else was saying.

Plus, she has a better chance of getting on the show than you (and me), as we are both under 18.

Also, Mark only did 14 shows...

if mark could hear by someone yelling at him don,t you think he would be wearing a hearing aid?he is totally deaf. And as for Barbara standing there for 8 hours a day in a very cold studio(beleive me even the crew wore fleece jackets and some wore hats)it was,nt the fun you thought it was for her,she had to take note of what noel said and all of the contestants so that mark was,nt left out of any of the conversation.it was hard going for her, if you were watching the show as you should have been you would have noticed that she never stopped signing all throughout the show, give her some credit.its easy to pass judgement when your not there.

Didnt Bunney and Jean make appearances on the show some weeks after their own shows had been shown ? Also all the ex contestants that were in the audience for the 500th show ?

They would have been invited back specially, Bunney to play the Easter Bunny at Easter, and Jean to play the Grim Reaper on Halloween. In normal circumstances, I don't think players are allowed back to sit in the audience for a regular game.

The banker's supposed to be rich, can't he afford central heating?!

And 50 shows Lucy has been on the premises like every single day for the last two years now she works there!

If there should be any rule, it should go along the lines that if you have been a contestant on one game show, you shouldn't be allowed on another for at least two years, and that if you win more than £10K you should be completely banned from trying to win any more on other shows and give other people a chance! ;)

As i said before dond rules are that once you have been a contestant you are not allowed back on the premises at all, perhaps the odd contestant has been back for special shows but only by special invitation,i don,t make the rules they are made by dond.

They do have central heating in the studio but for some unknown reason we had to suffer the airconditioning for quite some week,s perhaps it was to help keep some contestants awake you know what i mean(The morning after the night before)Not including myself.
