I have this message posted on dealornodeal.com and wanted to get the general opinion, but I haven't had many replies:
We are well and truly into DOND now, but what do you think has been the show's best month? I'll do a 'quick' recap:
October 2005: DOND starts, not much to go one, unless the one show did it for you.
November 2005: In easily one of DOND's most memorable games, Jennifer does the shows highest deal at £120 000. The £250 000 is blown twice by Natalie and Mally, Shell has the first all blue opening round, Raj wins a dreary 10p, and Andy K, called a legend himself ends the month with a perfect £20 000 win.
December 2005: Christmas 2005 is coming, and in December we have a few great games. Unfortunately however, Sara blows the perfect final two and an offer of £175 000, Audrey has possibly the worst opening round of all time, and Noel celebrates his birthday!
January 2006: We enter a New Year, but the first two games are dismal; £5 for Irene and Nick becomes the first member of the 1p club. It's quite quiet for a time after that, until Julie plays on her birthday and does the best proportional win in the history of the game, selling a 1p box for £33 000. Jessica gets the month's biggest win of £41 000, but apart from that, nothing too memorable.
February 2006: We start this month of with a trainwreck; Geordie deals at a useless £20. Brenda plays on most likely the luckiest DOND board of all time, and deals at £57 000. Daz blows the £250 000, Valentines Day comes and goes with Helen, Sam reveals a box containing nothing at the end of Chris's game, we are introduced to new colour coded boxes, and on the 100th episode, the £250 000 is blown for the fourth time, this time by the lovely Anna.
March 2006: Like the first day of February, the first day of March produces an even more painful game than Geordie's; Trevor wins 1p in spectacular style. Confident Mike gets just £1, beautiful Sam plays an amazing game on the shows first Prime time Saturday edition, dealing at £41 000. Germiane deals at £75 000 before discovering he could have had the £250 000, Saj wins a massive £50 000 after battling with her sister, poor Barbara wins £1, J.T and Marylin do an incredible scary dance to the theme music, dear Nancy plays on Mother's Day. Once again the £250 000 is blown, this time by Bob, and after 50 shows, Lucy plays, only to get £5. The next day, Janet takes a huge risk for only a fifth of Lucy's prize money, ending March.
April 2006: In April, Kirsty made history with the perfect final three while still in play, and gambled her way onto £75 000 after turning down £125 000; coming so close to the £250 000. Noel chucks some idiot out of the studio in Sandra's game, Pat G sings her legendary walk-of-wealth song, Fadil wins a horrible 1p, the legendary Pat M is given a yellow card, Gary bluffed the Banker into believing he needed double his target, and on the shows 150th episode, Dave E becomes the forth member of the 1p club. And Massimo's game goes disastrously wrong when a box falls of the table and opens in the middle of the game, resulting in all of the boxes being taken back, mixed up again and resealed.
May 2006: After Francessca's roller coaster ride, Gaz turns his unlucky game into an incredible £100 000 win, the legendary Pat M plays her game to a disappointing £1 000, Morris the poet takes an incredible gamble for the £250 000, but only gets £20 000, after 33 games, Bollywood lover Raj wins just £1, and Simone takes an incredible gamble for £75, 000, but only gets £1.
June 2006: Mister Blue Buzz plays an even worse opening round than Audrey but turns it round on the 1st. Black widow Stevie plays the next day to not much success. We see Suzanne take a strange SWAP as a first offer from the Banker, and play an incredible game, dealing at £47 000. Peter in his wheelchair plays an epic game, winning £25 000 when his box only contained £1, and Double-deal week comes along. With a hall of fame feature, we get to see some of the most memorable DOND moments of all time, but through it all, we get 3 £10 wins and a £5 win. Debbie gets a 1p vs £250 000 final two after dealing at £15 000, and blows the quarter of a million. Apart from that, we have a few great games, including Shirley who turned down a massive £55 000, only to deal one deal too late, and one too early; she had a £50 000 box and sold it for £20 000.
July 2006: We are well into Summer now, and it is scorching. In this month, Sally becomes the first female member of the 1p club, Buddy convinces the Banker to offer him £50 000, and to good effect, Connel also gets 1p 2 days after Sally, John has an incredibly unlucky game, and just before we break off for the Summer break, Giorgio stupidly wins 1p, another member of the now packed club.
August 2006: This isn't really a DOND month, as we only had 4 days, but boy were the games memorable. Noel parades Lindsay outside to ask of passer by for advice, before Lindsay herself crashed to £250, Nick deals at £45 000 on a board almost as good as Brenda's, and beats the Banker, and charismatic Lance wins a spectacular £87 000 on a £75 000 vs £100 000 final. And on the last day of the month, Sharron becomes the eighth member of the 1p club.
September 2006: At the start of September, Michaela has the £250 000 four days in a row, on the 250th show, the Banker tells Nev if he can find the 1p in the opening round, every pilgrim gets a bottle of champagne, and every player gets £250; unfortunately he fails, but deals at £41 000. Unfortunately for him, the game had bigger things for him. Joseph makes a surprise return after months of illness, mad Emi gets just £10, Khanny the ace gambler has a spectacular train wreck after turning down £48 000. Billy deals at £50 000, Matt writes the records after having the highest first and second offers, and a brilliant eight blues in a row. His game becomes another train crash however and becomes very emotional for Matt at the end as he wins just £5 000.
October 2006: 2006 is going fast and to open this month we have the brilliant Pat who wins £22 000, the beautifully eccentric Rhona goes all the way after dreadful luck to win £15 000, David W almost blows the £250 000, which hasn't come to the table for ages now, we have our first Sunday game (not including Double-deal week) with Barbara, who takes a huge risk for the £100 000, but swaps it away for £1 000. Mad Rosy gets £15 000 after taking ages to decide what to do, Alex (named Noddy for his big ears) only gets £5, tax free Harry plays a magic game and gets £20 000 at the third offer, conclusively beating the Banker, Jeff plays a wonderful game getting a great £64 000, Elizabeth and Mandy play a duo game and get £40 000, £20 000 each, and DOND celebrates its 1st Birthday. In the first show of the evening, Crazy Jane gets £27 000, and in the second show, David J gets a massive £70 000. After easily one of the best games of all time, Noel proves once again, the £250 000 hasn't come to the table. And on Halloween, Sandra a.k.a Spiky plays a very different game, but only gets £50 the day after Lee becomes the first person to win £750.
November 2006: Yep, were getting there, and the £250 000 seems to be lost. It's now well over 100 games since Debbie carried it to the table; will it come soon? So in November, the Banker's favourite Howard wins £1, a few good games before Madaline also wins £1, Lynne takes a massive gamble and it pays of; £75 000 is her reward. Amanda unfortunately leaves and her game has never been aired since, we think the £250 000 has come for Lucy; she dealt at £35 000, but yet again, the top prize hasn't come to the table. And we end the month with Margaret, who makes Noel make an **** of himself by jumping up and down in the middle of the game, impersonating Margaret.
December 2006: The year is coming to a close. And the £250 000, after 117 games, arrives with Ingerlise, who spookily deals at Debbie's prize money: £15 000, missing out of £235 000. Mike swaps a 1p box away for £20 000 at the first offer, Lynsey gets proposed to in her game, and as we really get into the Christmas spirit, Donna, like Sara blows the perfect final two and the £250 000. Donna however takes it somewhat worse than Sara, having a total breakdown in the game. In Brian's game, the east wing dance for Brian's offer, the west wing bombard the audience with kisses, Noel send out Wendy, which angers the rest of the players. Everyone storms out of the studio leaving an embarrassed Noel with no option but to call a break. Claudine plays an epic games and deals at £107 031, but once again, the £250 000 is blown, Sue, and Karen have disasters, and Wendy also on Christmas Eve. And on the big day, we have another evening show where the top prize is doubled to £500 000. Wrighty gets himself £32 000. On Boxing day also, Danny plays for half a million and deals at £20 000. But with the Banker's Christmas presents, he gets himself an extra £10 000. We have the Baby-faced Assassin Joey who gets £9 000, and on Hogmanay, a very confident Alfie shows his emotions when he, like so many before him, blows the £250 000.
January 2007: The start of another New Year, we turn over a new leaf. On the first day of the year, Frank and his useless system earns him £36, 126. The blissful Mariette dances her way to £15 000, Thanh and her more reliable system almost brings her to £75 000, but the poor girl just gets £750. And then it comes. Laura Pierce wins the £250 000. In an amazing game, with poor Banker's offers, her confidence brings her to the top prize. But the next day Craig wins £10, the beautiful Nicola gets £35 000, we have the stunning pregnant Jasmine who gets £14 600. Gabrielle and her fluffy slippers bring her a wonderful end of £15 000, psychic Sarah, who predicted Laura's win swapped a 10p box for the £250 000, but blows it, Julie gets £75 000 thanks to her belief in Sarah's card, Stella has an almost Brenda situation and deals at her second £50 000 offer, we have our most destructive player of all time Phil, Leanne blows the perfect final two, and at the end of the month, singing Bunney gets £110 000, with more references to Sarah, he plays arguably the biggest game in DOND's history, ending January.
February 2007: Okay, now February 2007 is done, so lets see; what did we have? We start with a great game with Peg, followed by Daddy Dennis making history and completing the board by becoming the first person to win 50p. Brookside returns the following Sunday with Jane and her daughter Kelly, with a great result of £50 000, and Noel and Alex do the limbo! We have a trainwreck with Gloria, heartbreak hotel is given a new meaning after Andrew wins £5, Richard plays via a wine list, Tony wins 1p, and beautiful Georgina gets £56 000 on Valentines Day. We have put up with Noel's Mary impressions, and her game is a barrel of laughs; wasn't she a treasure? We have Bob the storyteller, a legendary game with Paul, a few great games including Darren's and beautiful Susan's; both take away £42 000. And on the last day of February, Lee has a train wreck game, taking away just £1 000.
March 2007: We began this month with a cracker from the emotional Jayne who got £20 000. Julian has a spectacular crash to £1 000, Chantelle plays an awesome game and gets £35 000 gambling to become our 10th member of the 1p club, the great Gus wins £42,047.48 in a fantastic game, Partick loses out on the £250 000 in spectacular style, we have fablus Debbie, the legendary Doug who wins a marvelous £75 000, Sheran has statistically at 10 box the best board in the history of the game, and Betty plays on Mother's Day. Also this month we had Kelsie play a mind blowing game, losing out on an offer of £160 000 and the £250 000, Rich, a.k.a 'Mystic mess' gets extra offers from the Banker for predicting a box, we see the crew naked in Di's amazing game, we have Tess's hilarious quotes, and on the last day, Christine loses out on £100 000 after dealing at £6 000, completing probably for the Banker, the most successful month in the history of the show.
April 2007:
This month's highlights are amongst the strangest we have ever seen. The legendary Tess comes to pound table proving tricky for the Banker, Nathan has his love of the line with his game and Philomena plays one of the unluckiest games we have ever seen. Stunning Charlie gets £32 000, Bunney makes a surprise return in Easter for Dee's game, who gets every contestant £200 and every pilgrim a bottle of bubbly by finding the 1p in the opening round!! Sparks fly in Kerry's game when the power is cut and all the boxes are put in cages! Rita along with the rest of the contestants do a scary robot dance, gambler Penny misses out on £75 000 by the skin of her teeth, and newbie Den shows Noel what health and safety is all about! Barry the clown gets himself £50 000, we have Noel's best mate Phil as well. With Noel now parading the wings at the start of games, and the Banker setting up rivalry between east and west, we have reached a new era for the show. The highlight of the month is undoubtedly Gaz who gets an amazing £70 000.01 but misses out on the perfect final 2, we have problems with blue boxes (!) and at the end of the month, Roy produces for me one the most hilarious moments of DoND ever, dealing at a 'life changing' £49!
May 2007:
We start of the month with love, and Alain's game flirting with the stunning crew member Chiarra!! We pretty much have everyone we saw on Catherine Tate's Red Nose Day special, and the wings are gleaming. Graeme's unforgettable game puts him in the hall of fame, winning a huge £101 000, Shahid got an amazing £44 000, and we had Den, one of DoND's most memorable contestants. PJ's horrific game on the Sunday saw our 10th member of the 1p club in spectacular style, but he got an extra £15 000 from the viewers boxes. We had Doughnut Dolly, Derek and his owl, hat man Savvas, and the foxy Jenine. We then reach Lynn's game, who produces one of the most heartbreaking games ever. Jeff gave us our second all red squahdown, followed by a few varied games. The wonderful JuliAH wins just £250, and at the end of the month, Colin gets £10 000 in a fantastic game.
June 2007:
We blast of this month with Karen, whose dream it is to blast of to space. After winning £1 000, we have Renee's more than mad game, Jamie and wee Rita who brings the £1 000 to the table for the 3rd day running. Joe's game the following day sent a surge of energy throughout the dream factory, and he got a £26 500 OPW in spectacular style. Paul NO DEAL's his dream of playing at Old Trafford, Rodney gets a thumping £85 000 and hypnotic Dave gambles his way to £33 333. Also this moth, we had our second 50p win from Pippa, Adam become the 12th member of the 1p club, Mummy Michelle and her chants. Joanne had the £50 000 4 days running, for the 4th time in Eric's grand game on Father's Day. Jackee, Manuel and Mac provide disappointing games before Violet's boisterous win of £28 500. Steve tragically won 10p, and counting down to our 500th show, we see the return of some old favourites in montage. Back to game play, Kathleen has one of the strongest games we have ever seen, including the perfect final two, but dealing early on a very disappearing offer of £45 000, a few good games before our 500th spectacular. Annie is selected by Laura who returns amongst an audience entirely made up of past players. The jackpot is increased to £500 000 which is found in the opening box! Annie gets a good £10 000 OPW out of things though, ending the month in marvelous fashion.
July 2007:
A short month this month, as mid-way through we will be setting off to our Summer break, but what a month it is! The opening Sunday is another disappointment, with Frazer, the Fridge winning an ice-cold £1. Finally the £250 000 comes with Jon, but he deals to early at £30 000, we celebrate Independence Day in fine style with Dan, Usha provides a very different game, and Mike gets money that will truly change his life. Maria gets a £75 000 OPW on an amazing tense game, Igor becomes the first person to create the worst possible final 2, and he even deals at the 2p offer, beating Geordie's £20 record! Lynn's shocking gamble won her £50 000, Carol gave us one of the smuttiest games of all time, and on our last show before the summer break, Asim gave us a legendary game, with a OPW of £31 000, with the 1p on the table as well. 24 players await next season...
August 2007
August. We return to our lovable DoND after a wee summer break, to a new and rather suave set. An opening game from Rossano seems to get us in the swing of things with a delicious £35 000 win, followed by a few decent money games, including the wannabe wrestler Karen, and Brian as 'Tommy Cooper', who seems to dislike chairs. This month is the beginning of the Battle of The Sexes revelation, conjured up in Alex's game, and we slowly begin to see the males disappear. For the short time left of August, we have the obvious highlight of possibly the strongest 5 box and onwards situation ever, the magnificent Daniel turning down £90 000, which overshadows John's previous win of £50 000. Daniel eventually goes on to take £75 000, this to remain the biggest winning game for quite a long while. And so we get deeper into Autumn...
So, 23 amazing months, and I've just eaten up quite a bit of time, so come on, don't let all of this be for nothing, I can't do a poll as there would be too many options, so vote for your favourite month in message!
