I should make it clear by the way that that link does NOT contain any direct spoilers about the Christmas shows...

Apparently, myself and Davey attended the same Christmas recording yesterday afternoon. However, something came up and had to miss the second recording. For those who are wondering, they had received over 15,000 applicants for the Christmas Star shows.

I won't go into much detail but there are no £500K specials planned for these six shows. The good news to those who hate gimmicks. Each nominated player will play the bog-standard 5-3-3-3-3-3 system for £250,000. However, as stated, the box selection to the nominated player is done differently.

Given it was the second show I watched, there is a possiblity that these six shows might not be aired in the order they were recorded. As Noel made no reference to the previous show or anything in recent days or weeks.

In relation to my rant/attack yesterday. These shows are certainly different and will feature many people from the nominated persons lives as well as charity connections. If you are against people who hate sob stories and prefer the normal format. I suggest you don't watch as each show will focus on that player's past. Same with dealing/no dealing. It's their decision, they can do what they want to do.

I went to the first of the afternoon shows, Travis - on the front row too - can't wait til it's shown!!! :-D

The atmosphere was amazing!!!

Will quote part of my comment in the spoilers section, the safe bit

These Christmas shows, you will all LOVE - something a little bit different about them but you will love it. Just a tiny thing to point out though, you will probably need your tissues as don't forget (without spoiling anything, and just being based on what you had to do to get chosen), the people chosen to feature at Christmas have brought a very emotional story with each of them. The one we all saw, it was a very sad story.

This is probably the right time for this kind of thing if ever there was one. Make your own mind up as to whether such a right time does exist; I'm unsure, and will probably watch one out of intrigue.

And as Travis has already said, they weren't given broadcast dates, so they could even be broadcast in a different order to what they were filmed in.

There is no £500,000 specials, but there is something equally as special - just make sure you watch them!

Myself and Davey aren't giving away any more hints. We've had our say, you'll have to wait until Christmas week. :D

This has apparently been put on Digiguide (thanks to Travis for finding it):

In the week running up to Christmas:

Deal Or No Deal - Scrooge vs. Santa.

Scrooge vs. Santa sees a festive battle between the good people of the dream factory and the infamous evil Scrooge, The Banker. He's devised a wicked twist on the game that will see contestants trusting an enormous advent calendar to deliver them some Christmas cheer.

I'm guessing it's a thing like they did with the Halloween trick / treat boxes. How dare they nick my idea of an advent calendar though! :P

They're certainly playing around with the schedule this year aren't they!! The Sat 22nd episode is earlier than usual, then the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day episodes are later... then suddenly Boxing Day is on a lot earlier than normal. Then it starts to settle down a bit until we get Saturday 29th's episode on as late as 8:20, and Monday 31st's on at 7:15... very random scheduling.

It'll be interesting to see what is on at the same time on the other sides - I suspect there is some strategic placing in the schedules here. They obviously learnt from their mistake of putting DOND up against Doctor Who last Christmas Day.

I feel something bad here...

... something between the people who have applied over 20 times, then someone who didn't even apply and get on.

This could be nasty...

I got the Christmas TV guide today where it elaborates on who's playing during some of the Christmas star games.

I wouldn't class it as a spoiler but if you don't want to know anything about who's playing then stop reading.

Mon 24th: A 24-year old charity campaigner plays.

Tue 25th: Bridget, a chairty fundraiser from South Wales.

Wed 26th: N/A

Thur 27th: A charity fundraiser plays.

Fri: 28th: A widowed mum from Nottinghamshire

Sat 29th: A 45-year old Surrey man who has helped raise more than £1.2 million for fellow Multiple Sclerosis sufferers since he was first diagnosed with the disease eight years ago.

Thanks Mike. If the listings are right then the Christmas Eve show is the one myself and Davey attended. While Bridget's show was recorded afterwards on the same day.

Thanks to channel4sales.com I have found out a lot more about the players due to appear on the Christmas Star shows. Whilst it doesn't contain any gameplay spoilers I decided to post the info in the spoilers section of the site so as not to spoil it for people who would rather not know any background info about the players.

Which can be found here - http://www.dond.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=360560#360560
