The following lists detail the ratings for nearly every episode of the show (except for a few which are unobtainable) from the last 5 years. Starting with the very first show (which rated with 1.88m viewers) up until the present day. Any ratings which are unavailable for a particular episode will be indicated.

The majority of the ratings have been sourced from BARB and on occasion from Channel4sales (usually for the weekend shows).

As of November 2008 Channel 4 Sales have stopped posting daily overnight ratings for DoND and other shows. So as of November 2008 onwards all the ratings listed are sourced from BARB (unless otherwise stated). BARB update their website weekly, usually on a Monday. The ratings updated are around 2 weeks prior to the current date.

The number featured in brackets next to the rating of an episode (from August 2008 onwards) is what position the episode has reached in the top 30 shows for Channel 4 that week, according to the BARB ratings. If the show doesn't rate in the top 30 then there will not be a rating for that episode available on BARB to post.

Many factors can effect the ratings - such as weather conditions, what's scheduled on other channels, and of course the popularity of the show in general. Another thing that also needs to be taken into account is the actual audience percentage share, but as those figures are hard to get hold of in the public domain they will not be included.

I didn't realise the Saturday audiences were that naff, but then again they are usually competing with the X Factor or Strictly Come Dancing.

There seems to be a general downward trend anyway since 2006 - viewing figures have fallen off quite a bit this year compared to a year earlier.

Fascinating stats though. Must have taken ages to compile. Kudos.

So hopefully this Saturday we'll finally get to see the ratings go up a bit because only Strictly Come Dancing remains a rival - and then next week there won't be any rivalry!!!

Our games are boring. £500,000 board is better to watch.

I doubt it'll be long before another one comes along - such as Dancing On Ice...

That starts in February so we'll get a few weeks' freedom first!

Been a while since i've updated this, but here's an updated ratings guide to DOND.

Not taking audience share into account, the figures themselves are still pretty healthy with an average of 2 million just before the summer break. You'd expect a natural decline over the years but there's only been a slight drop in ratings during the summer months compared to 2006 and 2007.

Also some were saying how low the figures for Brian's show were - but the first few episodes of Season 2 and Season 3 were also "low" as well...

Looking at the figures for the Bankers Birthday Week, it seems suprising to me that Linda's game got the highest viewing figures.

Seems that the change came about February/March 2007, that's when the figures drop from 3 million to 2 million and don't recover. Very pleasing to see that out of the two episodes since then to get 3 million, one is Clive's!

Channel 4 overnight figures so far this week.

Well I don't think C4 have much to worry about in terms of competition from ITV! I've just seen a trailer for "Autumn Afternoons on ITV from 2pm" and they consist of repeats of A Touch of Frost (in the 4pm slot I think), 60 Minute Makeover and a cookery show (at about 2pm) and The Alan Titchmarsh Show (at about 3pm).

I doubt C4 will be in too much of a hurry to find a permanent replacement for R&J yet either! Remember last time when there was a gap in their 5pm schedule - they straddled DOND across it by putting it on at 4:45 - 5:30 and put property shows / Come Dine With Me around it at 4:15 and 5:30. They haven't done that this year despite their relatively weak 5pm slot, presumably because ITV is offering no competition. Or maybe Wogan's new show and Come Dine With Me are actually pulling in more viewers than R&J ended up getting!!

Come Dine With Me is the best show in the world so I hope it is. I hear there's a new series of Coach Trip (the other best show in the world) coming soon so presumably that will be in the post-DOND slot at some point.

When I checked last week, the show was up to their regular audience share (around 20%) come Wednesday at 19%. Some primetime shows would kill for a 1 in 5 people audience share.

The only "new" show ITV are working on at the moment is "Spin Star" which will be produced by the same production team behind DoND. Filmed at Pinewood but will come under the Endemol/Inital West name.

You are right Daniel. Coach Trip is going into production for a third series, partly due to the popularity on the first two series being repeated on Sky Three and More 4. I suspect they will produce thirty episodes for a January/February 2009 run, when Paul O'Grady will be putting his feet up.

Weekend ones aren't very popular are they...

They never have been but they probably gain more figures showing DOND than anything else in that time slot which is why they still bother with the weekend shows.

Does anyone know where audience share figures can be obtained online? I'd be curious to see them for DOND right now, as I'd have thought the figures should be over 2 million at the end of the 2nd week of Season 4, but they're lingering at 1.5 - 1.8 million. Not one episode of Season 4 has gained more than 1.86 million viewers according to this list.

Also is there any word of DOND's contract? The last "official" word on it was that it had been renewed until autumn 2007 (I think). Obviously it's been renewed for longer than that and they're filming until at least December 2008, which will be about April 2009 on-screen. I did read on here a while back that the contract had been renewed until 2011. But I don't know how accurate that is.
