Although Noel is always the consumate professional and is completely brill on DOND, if he was unavailable for a week, (combing beard, or purchasing horrifically patterned shirts for example), who do you think would be a good second choice to present DOND for a week.
I'd say it would be a twist to have a woman presenter...?

If Noel was ever to be away for a week, I think it would be nice to see a female presenter hosting it, although someone said on another thread that they should bring back 6 previous contestants to present a show each.

ME! ME! ME!

I'm available. I'd even do it for free. I'd crawl on my hands and knees through the desert. Please...

What about the guy on the other end of the phone, Keith "CHEGGERS" Chegwin, ex- Swap Shop, Cheggers Plays Pop, It's a Knockout, Big Breakfast and GMT presenter, or is he actually the banker? I think he would make a great host, full of infectious vivacity, and ready wit.

Anne Robinson would be a good presenter.

I know this thread is light hearted - but if Noel was ever replaced I don't think it'd be the same. Can you imagine Millionaire without Chris Tarrant ?

This is going to sound weird but

JEREMY BEADLE

Got similar mannerisms to Noel, and I think he would be a good replacement. But I doubt Noel would ever give it up.

Sorry - but I think Anne Robinson would be a TERRIBLE idea !!

You'd need someone warm and fuzzy like our Noelly. But a woman would be good - maybe Fern Britton or someone with an equal 'nice' factor!!

The whole ex contestant thing is always a possibility though :-D

Agreed LittleFrog, I can't imagine DOND without Noel, mind you they've said the same about Countdown.

Could it carry on without Noel?

Maybe have a rotor of guest presenters like Have I Got News For You, maybe as suggested before.

Former contestants - Lucy, Marcus, JT, Raj, Pat M... the list is endless!

Can you imagine Marcus or Pat returning to host an edition?! I for one would tune in!!

But There's only one host, there's only one Noel Edmonds!

What about another ex- Radio 1 DJ such as Simon Mayo or Nicky Campbell, both of whom have had success as TV presenters? I think either of those two could do DOND and kiss goodbye to Radio 5 Live should Noel decide to hang up his boots at any stage. Instead of the Wheel of Fortune the Red Boxes of Fortune...? Actually, I hope Noel stays a long time!
