Audition

Hey all.. Long time lurker, first time poster - so be gentle!

Applied to DOND about a year ago, got an application form sent to me a couple of months back. Filled that out and sent it off, and in the past couple of days, I have had a nice lady on the phone from DOND inviting me to an audition early next year

Has anyone on here got any experince with these auditions? What exactly goes on, and how likely is it that if you get to the audition that you'll get selected for the show? (Obviously, i'm aware that there is still a selection process and not all people at the auditions will get it - and even if I were to be successful, it could be up to a year before I hear!)

Has anyone on here been to an audition? What's the process like? What sort of questions do they ask?

i went to an audition in manchester back in february.
they ask why you want to be on the show, what you would bring to the show, what youd do if you won £250k, what you think of the banker, why you applied etc.
apparently last time 100,000 people applied, and i think around 5000 get an audition, so you have done well so far.
there were about 500 people at my audition, and the only person I met that got on the show was 2p Igor.
they interview you with a film camera in your face, with one person asking the questions, and one person monitoring the camera and sound.
its all really relaxed and unformal, but just be your self and try to stand out in some way, whether its what you wear, the things you say or how you present yourself
my feeling is that they want people who are normal, but have a point of difference to add something to the show.

after all the times i have tryed to get on ,i have never got on yet & sent in somthing 20 applications to the show,whats is going on?

I've sent in 2 applications and had 2 auditions. I didn't get on so I'm probably not what they are looking for - that said, maybe I could be third time lucky ??

The people that run the auditions are lovely and very friendly. Aside from the camera all it is is a little chat about you. There are no right answers, you just have to be yourself.

God knows how many people have applied, and less than 1000 have actually got on the show.

how many are acturly at auditions & how many are picked in one audition?
