He has his strengths, his excellent sense of humour being just one. He has his weaknesses, his occasional wakeyist atitude being the main concern.

He is nearly 60 if he leaves the show ( just for a bit of fun) who would you like as his ideal replacement.

Davina McCall would be good but it would be difficult to prise her away from big brother.

Ant and Dec/ Dick and Dom would add humour but probably too much humour for the game to be well-balanced.

Kate Thornton has left X Factor and may be tempted by an offer.

Dermot O Leary, not so good. We've already seen that he is capable of severe bias on some of his other shows.

My first choice replacement would be none other than Vernon Kay. He's charismatic, fair and with a good sense of fun, what say you?

Ps. I know there'll be some who'll think this thread is ridculous but it's all totally hypothetical and not meant to be taken seriously.

Yeah, lol. But as I said, probably too much funny and not enough gameplay IMHO.

I can't really imagine it being worth doing without Noel

I can't imagine Deal or No Deal without Noel as the host. It would be weird without him as we've gotton so used to him, and we associate him with Deal or No Deal, it would be weird to associate another presenter with the show when it's Noel's. I think if he ever does decide to go (never hopefully), the show should go too.

That's said, just for a bit of fun, it would be kind of cool if an ex-contestant presented the show!

Sam Simmons! She gets the boobie prize of hosting Deal or No Deal instead of QVC

It's true, Noel and the show are inexorably tied. There's no doubt in my mind the show would be better with another host on at least some level, but it wouldn't be the same and it would be just a big culture shock.

Davina McCall would be my pick, she's a 'people person' and can show calm in the face of far greater adversity than DoND ever throws up - and on another Endemol show too! She's also got experience of big-money studio game shows (The Vault).

Ant and Dec can do serious (PokerFace) and might be the best option to replace Noel. I can imagine them doing a Wakey/Greeny double act and then saying 'seriously, it's your call' or something.

Of the other possible hosts; Eamonn Holmes does everything, and I doubt would fit this; Thornton is at once 'screaming fangirl' and 'dull', but her proven ability on live shows would make her a safe choice given DoND's tight taping schedule; randomly, how about Alex Lovell, the LTL voiceover girl?

She'd be a good choice, I think. From what I've seen of her presenting Big Brother, she's good, and I think she'd be quite compassionate if someone had a bad game.

I'd prefer Dick and Dom to Ant and Dec. I saw Dick and Dom's version of Smarter than a 10 year old the other day, and they were surprisingly good, I thought. Ant and Dec, as much as I like them, are on everything.

I like Dermot O'Leary. I don't watch X Factor, so I can't comment on that, but on other shows, I like him a lot. He's quite easy on the eye too.

He'd be on my list of possible replacements. I like him.

Good God no! If she ever presented it, I'd stop watching!

I seriously can't think of anyone who would be anywhere close to being as good a DOND host as the legendary Edmonds is.

But they could do a week of guest presenters!

Monday: Des O'Connor and Carol Vorderman
Tuesday: Paul and Barry Chuckle from Chucklevision
Wednesday: Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May
Thursday: David Tennant and Freema Ageyman (or however her surname's spelt)
Friday: Nick Bain, Trevor Bruce, Fadil Osman, Dave Ellis, Sally Kettle, Connell Gibson, Giorgio Fellicini, Sharron Coates, Tony Wynne-Jones, Paul Johnson, and Adam Field
Saturday: All of the above

What an awesome line-up, Billy! Imagine what the shows would be like!

Monday:

Contestant: 3 from the top and 2 from anywhere else, Carol!
Carol: Sure thing! 5, 10, 8, 21 and 18! And a total of £16,550 taken out in that round!
Des: Thank you Carol, your time starts now, Mr Banker!
*Lights go dim*
*The board transforms into the countdown clock and starts ticking away*
*Contestants dance*
Durd durd durd durd durd durd durd BONG!
Des: Times up!
*Banker rings*
Des: His offering £10,000! Deal or No Deal?
*Lights go dim*
*The board transforms into the countdown clock and starts ticking away*
*Contestants dance*
Durd durd durd durd durd durd durd BONG!
Des: Times up! What have you got?
Contestant: A 6!
Des: Let's have your 6 then!
Contestant: NO DEAL!
Susie: I'm just checking now! Yep it's in the DONDictionary!
Des: Welldone!
Contestant: Yay!

Tuesday:

Paul: I hope I can now reveal the £75,000 and not the 1p!
*Banker rings*
Paul: His offering you the swap! Swap or No Swap?
Contestant: I'll like to swap please!
Paul: Right come on then Barry, I take this end, you take that end, now come on then, to you, to me...
Barry: To you, to me...
Paul: To you, to me...
Barry: Ah, right there we go! Now I hope I've just carried £75,000 over here and not over there.
*Tension music starts and Barry lifts the lid to reveal 1p*
Paul: Oh dear...
Barry: Oh dear, oh dear...

Wednesday:

*Top Gear music starts playing*
*James crashs through the board in a Citroen C6*
Jeremy: What the hell are you doing, you idiot!
James: Whoops!
Richard: Shut up you two, I'm trying to speak to the Banker!
Richard: He is offering you £12,500!
Jeremy: What for that board! NO DEAL! You'd be stupid to deal that! I'm mean come on!
James: I'd deal!
Jeremy: Yes, well you would.
Richard: Deal or No Deal?
Contestant: No Deal!
James: You said that in 0.15465th of a second, which puts you up in 4th place!

Thursday:

*Tardis crash-lands through the roof and onto the set*
Martha: Where are we?
The Doctor: We seem to have travelled back in time to 2007!
Contestant: Who are you?
The Doctor: Why, I'm the Doctor! Chose a box!
Contestant: 7!
Martha: If this is the £250,000, the Daleks will conquer Earth and the whole universe!
Box-opener: I can't seem to get the box open!
The Doctor: Don't worry about that, my lazer pen should do the trick!
*The Doctor zaps the box with his blue lazer pen*
The Doctor: Now try!
*Opens the box to reveal £250,000*
The Doctor: NO!
*Daleks can be heard from outside*
Dalek: EXTERMINATE!!!!
Martha: Oh no, we're doomed!
Contestant: Now what?!
The Doctor: Quick everyone in the Tardis!
*Contestants run around the set waving their arms about like a bunch of loons as the Daleks conquer the Earth outside*

Friday:

(A continue on from Thursday)

*The members of the 1p club crash-lands through the roof onto the set in a phonebox that represents the Tardis*
The Doctor: Hey! That looks just like the Tardis!
Nick: Hey! That looks just like our 1p club phonebox!
Trevor: What's going on down here?
Martha: Well, the £250,000 was revealled and now the Daleks are conquering Earth and the Universe!
Fadil: Oh dear, sounds bad!
The Doctor: It is!
Martha: What brings you down here anyway?
Connell: Sharron was feeling space-sick, so we stopped here for a bit. Anything we can do to help?
Martha: No, this is a job only the Doctor can do, but thanks for offering!
Connell: No problem!
Dave: Hey, I don't suppose you could do us a favour please?
Martha: Sure!
Adam: Well you see, we all won 1p on Deal or No Deal, hence that big pink flashing neon 1p sign on top of the phonebox, and well we want to go back in time and win £250,000 so we can become the £250,000 club! Can you get the Doctor to take us back in time?
Martha: Can't you go back in time yourself?
PJ: We could but we've used up all our fuel and the petrol station is miles away!
Martha: Well there's already a £250,000 club, and Laura's in it. I'll have to phone her and get her permission.
Tony: Ok!
*Martha phones Laura*
Martha: Hi Laura, erm can the members of the 1p club go back in time and become the £250,000 club?
Laura: Sure!
Martha: Ok, thanks! Bye!
Martha: She said ok!
*The members of the 1p club cheer*
The Doctor: I'm back and I've saved the day!
*Everyone cheers*
Martha: We knew you would Doctor, can you do this guys a favour?
The Doctor: Sure!
Martha: Take them back in time to their games so they can win £250,000!
The Doctor: Ok, let's go!
Everyone: Yay!
*The members of the 1p club go back in time and all win £250,000*
Sally: I can buy a new boat!
Giorgio: I can buy a new hat!

Saturday: All of the above. Then at the end they bring Noel back and they all party like it's their birthday and pull party poppers and wear silly hats! Yay!

The End.

Chris Tarrant might be a good replacemnet as he's used to high money game shows?

How about Jim Bowen? :D

"Welcome to this special edition of Deal or No Deal!"
(Followed by a reading of an obviously phony "fan" letter)

"Keep out of the reds and in the blues, nothing in this game for peanuts in the box!"

Contestant: "Box 14, please"
Bowen: "Okay lads, 1p we'd like!"

After the first round: "Okay, lets see what The Banker has to offer tonight!"

"The offer is £4000! That money is yours! Would you like to gamble it for tonight's star prize which is hiding behind the boxes? Non-dealer goes first!"

First box: £5000
Bowen: "Red."

Second box: £50,000
Bowen "Red again!"

Third box: £20,000
Bowen: "Red again, how unlucky. Well, that's the gamble!"

"It's pounds for offers!"

"At the end of the third round. Sally had £5, Gary had £100 and Fiona had £75,000. Well played!"

"The offer is BFH. Banker's Fare Home!"

If the contestant deals: "Well done, you've dealt at £12,000! It'll take me two minutes to count this out!"

At the end of the game when the contestant's box is opened last: "Have a look at what you could've won!"

"Can't beat a bit of Deal!"

Maybe Tony Green can co-host it too!

Contestant: "Box 14, please"
Green: "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNN FOURTEEN... £50!"

"THATS THE PENNY!"

If the contestant is feeling really nervous: "Settle in now. There's no rush. Take yer time. Don't hurry it."

It would be awesome!

If not, maybe Roy Walker?

Contestant: "Box 5, please."
Box: £100,000
Walker: "It's good but it's not right!"

Or maybe give Howie Mandel a shot at the UK version!

What do you all think? :-D

Davina McCall - would probably be too emotional and is too loud in general.

Ant and Dec - absolutely not.

Dick and Dom - absolutely not.

Kate Thornton - don't think she'd do it well, she doesn't have The X Factor of DOND presenting. ;)

Dermot O Leary - possibly, he'd be an interesting choice... it could work.

Vernon Kay - not too keen, he's a bit prattish...

Bruce Forsyth - he's great! But not right for DOND.... SCD is where he belongs.

Chris Tarrant - possibly a good choice.

How about... Bradley Walsh, Brian Conley, Anne Robinson or Nick Hancock?!... or... how about... Richard & Judy!!! They could do a deal / no deal double act - I bet Richard would be a no dealer and Judy a dealer!!!

Ultimately though, Noel should always do it - provided he doesn't get too Wakeyist like he was in March 2007. ;)

Nick Hancock would be an excellent choice, and is one of few viable replacements in my opinion.

Alternatively, how about Jeremy Kyle?! :-D (we might get to know a bit more about the contestants...)

I really liked DOND's replacement during the summer - Win My Wage - presented by Nick Hancock. Although I seemed to be in the minority by liking it. :? I think he'd be quite good at DOND - he had a good sense of humour on WMW and could pull off tense / exciting moments well, as well as being serious / emotional / mysterious when need be.
