So, the final month of the second year of DOND... and what an interesting month it was! Lots of twists and surprises and a wide variety of games.

The shows

Ioanna started it off, taking a gamble which didn't pay off but still leaving with a red amount. Then came a long run of blues at the table - Stan avoided the 1p club and took £11,500, before Danielle sold her £1 box for a fantastic £45,000! Sadly Bernie's luck was out as he won just £50 - Alicia turned it round the next day with a £27,100 OPW but then Gillian and Lee both went away with blues.

Phyllis's game was unique as she was offered the chance to "un-deal" but declined and stuck with her £10k. Then came the "Grin Reaper" Jean who may have been on the Banker's payroll when on the wings but still spanked him for £20k! "Elvis" Steve won £26k before Rob left with just a tenner and Tracy and Pottsy both won decent amounts but could have had more.

Stats man Bald Ed, or "E.D." as he was known on Planet Joan, gave us a cracker of a game to beat the Banker for £33,000.62. Janet's luck ran out and she won just £100, then Mikey brought the £250,000 to the table for the first time in months - but dealt for £25k. Maggie declined an Elvis dream trip but took £20k, then Pete's apparently cautious £5,100 deal turned out to have saved him from the 1p club. Then Brunhilde produced a painful game as she crashed from £20k to a £2k deal, before Chris S and Helen W took good amounts but missed out on big-money boxes.

Col turned things around with a £30k OPW before Ron's dramatic and emotional game ended with a £20k box win. Abed's game never took off but he got £5,000 by playing to the end. And then came Halloween week with the twists of the Trick or Treat boxes! Ben's cautious deal earned him £12,666 before Tina earned £26,000 but had £100k in her box. And finally, on Halloween itself, Chris B gave the Banker a real nightmare with a £75k box win plus an additional £1,000 - all that after losing the top two in the opening round! The show also featured great costumes and the reappearance of Jean!

Statistics
Biggest win: £76,000 - Chris B
Smallest win: 10p - Lee
Red wins: 22
Blue wins: 5
Total winnings: £482,626.72

Well, a very interesting month which was certainly much better overall than September for a number of reasons...

We started off the month with a strong 22 where I had many favourites, including Jean, Lee and Ed. Then after they had played, it went through a dodgy patch in the middle of the month when I had few favourites on the wings... but then in the later part of the month, the 22 got better and I now think it's a very good bunch! Contestant banter has increased as well!!

Games that stick out for me in the first part of the month are Jean's, Lee's and Bernie's - Jean's because she was so great, Lee because he was very nice and it's a shame he only won 10p and Bernie because of the reaction of people to him on here!

Phyllis' game has to be one of the worst in DOND history to be honest, I won't re-list the reasons why I thought it was crap. :P But I thought the undeal offer was stupid, and even more stupid trying it on an emotional old lady.

The Pottsy and Ed love thing will be a memorable feature... I'm glad it wasn't overdone too much. Ed's game itself was certainly one to remember and great to see a stats man getting an OPW and showing the banker who's boss! :P

Mikey's game was memorable due to the re-appearance of the £250k, and Pete's game was good too as he was a great bloke and his cautious deal wasn't too bad! Brunhilde's game was painful, and Chris S and Helen W were interesting games as it turned out they had "squandered" big money.

Things really were on the up from Col's game with his OPW, and then Ron's game with that FABULOUS ending - certainly a contender for Show of the Month is that one! The Halloween Week has been interesting - I wasn't sure abou0t the trick / treat thing at first, but today's show was so brilliant for many reasons that it makes up for any silly gimmicks they may have introduced as part of Halloween Week! :P

Overall a month which had a good start, a bit of a dodgy patch in the middle but ended up having a fabulous end!

It feels like quite a long time to me, Ioanna's game feels like forever ago, maybe it's because she'd been there since August!

The first few shows were really really great and it looked like the days of blue wins were behind us, huge wins from Danielle and Alicia. But for the next few weeks the blue wins just kept coming, it seemed that we just couldn't shake them off. Phyllis's game was really memorable with both Bridget and her 'Undeal' offer and I'm almost certain we'll get that at least once more before the year's out, plus we had some great characters play like Jean and her relationship with The Banker, and Ed and his relationship with Pottsy, both of which giving us two fantastic wins!

As much as I don't like to say it, though, I have to confess that by the middle of the month I couldn't find myself getting into it anymore. We still couldn't shake off the blue wins and weren't having any long periods of good luck, and the contestants were in a very silent phase with none of them saying that much, although I imagine the editing helps a lot in cases like that. Nothing was wowing me, really...although that would change near the end of the month!

I dunno what it was about Chris S's game last Tuesday but suddenly all the contestants began to really shine, we had Mary and her grass, Judy and her crystal ball, and lots more. It didn't matter that he missed out on over £200k, as he still won loads more than Brunhilde's painful game the show before and it felt like we were on the up. And since then we've had that fantastic, awesome game with Ron pushing us above the £10,000,000 (and one of my favourite songs ever playing at the end!), and then today, the massive win that it had all been building up to, Chris B's £75,000 simply being the greatest show of Season 3 so far in my opinion.

We've not been at such a high at the end of a month for a very long time, the closest I can compare it so is at the end of Season 2, which was very similar - the luck was back, the players were getting big wins, and the 22 was crammed with characters. Oh man, I cannot WAIT for November if it continues!!

Hmm pretty mixed month, with a few excellent shows as well as normal/average games and trainwrecks. great end to the month though!

Certainly memorable with Phyliss's controversial game too!

Good month overall. November promises to be even better, despite the poor game for an excellent player on day 1.
