It always puzzles me when the person in the chair struggles with their fellow contestants names.

Sometimes they get their name completely wrong or have to get closer to look at their name badge.

why is this?

From what I can gather they spend a lot of time together on and off the screen and even go to the bar and socialise after. We are always lead to believe there is a great camerarderie and great friendships made between the players so you would think they would know each other well enough to know their names.

I appreciate they cannot be friends with everyone but a group of 21 others is not that difficult.

I would be very upset if I spent most of my day for a week or 2 with someone who couldnt even remember my name.

There's obviously always going to be three or so contestants who only arrived the previous day. And I guess a contestant who stays for 22 shows will probably meet around 42 others during their stay! Meeting 42 new people in a couple of weeks I'm sure makes it hard to remember all their names...

And don't forget that nerves play a part too in some cases!
