Not sure if its just me who feels this way but i hate slow box openings! I know occasionally they are good for building tension etc but not when they are done just for the sake of it! I'm finding myself screaming 'open the damn box' at the tv! Ok.....rant over!

You mean Abed?

You was always a fast box opener anyways lol!

Yeah suspense wise, I find it very annoying, yes it is more suspenseful, but this is kind of OTT-ing it now.

ABED, SPEED UP!!!

me too its stupid and pointless just open the friggin box already lol they can tense it up in editing with audience shots and stuff like they do, but theres no need to actually open the box lid as fast as a slug.

I just think there is a time and a place. I also dont like that i occasionally find myself ducking my head down as if i will actually see the contents of the box any sooner! There were a few in todays game and it must have been annoying fot pottsy. I cant remember ever opening a box slow for no reason! Am i getting a bit pedantic lol?

No! For Joan when she did it it was kinda comedic, the whole 'Planet Joan' thing. But people like Abed for example (I don't hate him, honest!!!), he's like a slug opening them! And now several newbies are as well!!!

LMAO - just down a shot next time it happens, and every time it happens! You should feel better after each slow box opening then!

Abed looks scary anyways lol!

I think it's quite amusing actually - as are really fast ones like Hannha, for example! :)

Yeah but if I had done that today I would have been drunk by 8 box lol. I do appreciate that they can be effective but there was no need for it today-erotic or not!

Yeah i've noticed that more recently about slow box openings and then I shout "come on" at the TV as if it's actually going to do anything. But then i've also noticed myself lowering my head usually when the game is near the end and trying to see if it's a blue or red before the box fully opens.

Especially coming from me? Any particular reason why? Is it because my box openings were so swift and slick and not in any way erotic haha? I'm glad I'm not the only idiot who ducks there head to get a preview of the box contents though.

I personally like slow bo openings, it would be boring if everyone started doing it, but at the same time I find it boring if everyone opens there box with the same speed. Its what makes the show, te show and is what makes different characters stand out.

I remember one contestant slooowly opening her box just enough for everyone to see it was a big red, so they groaned, and then she slowly closed it again, and then she slowly opened it again. It was very baffling!

Slow box opens could be useful at a tense moment of the game but randomly throughout the game does seem a bit silly. It also ruins quickies!

I think you mean Lynn that stood in E10

And I agree with the Quickies.

Sexy God Roy said "This is my 19th show, I had the £250,000 yesterday and a total of three times, and I have also had £75,000 too, I really hope I can have it two days running, good luck, can I open the box yet?"

Or something very similar!

I love slow box openings! Although, if they all opened their boxes Abed style, it'd get boring.

Haha, I do that too!

I personally don't really mind slow box openings but it must be really annoying for the contestant playing because they just want to know whats in there as soon as possible.

Hehe, maybe when slow box openers open their box they should play the chariots of fire music and show a clip of the seasons changing and the dates of the calendar going by and various pictures of clocks, and then when they return the box has finally been opened and everyone cheers and Noel's beard has grown an extra inch longer because it has taken that long to get it open!
