Just noticed this website in the adverts at the top of the forum - http://www.allboxes.co.uk/deal---no-dea ... -681-p.asp

It seems to be selling a pack of 5 "replica" DOND boxes for £65!! "That's just £13 each" they say... :?

"Beautiful high quality hinged shoulder boxes in the style of the popular TV show Deal, No Deal", the sizes of which are "360x310x230mm (Length x Width x Height) with a 50mm lid" - I wonder if the sizing is accurate?

"Available in a variety of colours - see menu below" - surely you'd only want red.

Interesting... and also stupid. I wonder how many they'll sell. I can't see why anyone would want DOND boxes that are of "beautiful high quality"... the only time anyone would want one is if they're doing their own DOND game in which case they'll probably make do with converting a FREE supermarket cardboard box. If you are a huge DOND fan and want a genuine box, then you're probably more likely to buy one off eBay that's been "acquired" - I did see one a while ago that was selling on there for £60+ and seemed to be the genuine article.

Still, I suppose it makes a change having that at the top of the forum rather than the "Gay Dating" adverts that seem to often be there. Or is that just my computer???

Must just be your computer... ;)

I see the ad...looks interesting apart from the pricetag. I've made it no secret I'd love to one day record my own episode.

H - its your computer, or else it's you - and im swung towards the latter by your avatar

but i do remember plugging a set of 22 boxes that were for sale on ebay over a year ago, and looked much better than these 22. And they were selling for £25 the lot, with seals, hinges and an owner who can do maths.

Oh, and £65 for all 22? That'd be £2.95 a box then.

~Then in that case, it really is £13 each, and a rip off at that. Don't buy them.

There was a game show at our local Tesco (I hate it when people call it Tescos) called something like Tesco's Real Deal, these would be handy for this type of event.

I must admit, they look a bit cheap and nasty from the picture. I certainly won't be spending my hard earned cash on a pack of cardboard boxes!! I wonder how much profit they make on them! ;)

hmm...

5 packs of £65 each...

£325

+ 1 pack of blue boxes if you want a real dond show

£65

£390 + 17.5% VAT

£390 + £68.25

=£458.25

on 30 boxes, 5 of which you wont use so 25 boxes in effect

£458.25/25 = £18.33 a box

so actually its nearly £20 a box and they dont come with seals or the value and number labels.

    :( :( :( :(

I would actually like a "proper" official DOND box with the number 14 on (my birthday) and a £250,000 sign.

But how much do the real DOND boxes cost to make and if they were to market them how much would you pay for one. I wouldn't go over £10.

Geez, if REPLICA boxes WITHOUT a inside label and WITHOUT a number on front I think it will be over £25 each.

I may be tempted to pay up to £20 for a replica box if it was a genuine article. Possibly £30 if it was an actual box used on the show. Not sure really. If it was an "unofficial" box but looked pretty identical, then no more than £10.
