Well, how do you sum up that month? It certainly wasn't an uneventful one...

The month got underway with the men taking on the Banker in the first half of the Battle of the Sexes. It started well as Ron beat the Banker, but John M and Stephen both went too soon and James, Pete and Robin had trainwreck games. The totally disastrous game became an all too familiar pattern, with Robin's game described by some as the worst ever... until the following week, that is!

Annie got the women off to a decent start, but then Siobhan had what almost certainly was the worst game we've ever seen. Never being offered more than the opening £2,500, her terrible luck went right to the end as she swapped for the fiver. Then we saw a DOND first, a non-cash deal as Brenda dealt for a trip to New York. Theresa gave us a great game as she kept the big one in play to win £52,000 - but then the bad luck returned with three successive blue wins for Kulwant, Irene and Caroline. The Banker took some criticism for his constant joke offers on poor boards, giving some of the players no chance.

Zahida turned it round with a £34,000 win, and Alexandra and Kathy also scored victories but the brave Carol and Viv found their luck was out. The men proved conclusive winners overall. With the normal selection pattern resumed, Tom's game was anything but normal as he dealt a dream New Orleans basketball prize. Andrea's game never really took off as she dealt £9,000 - but the rest of the week was certainly dramatic!

Maria's game seemed to be heading for disaster, but she cleared out the blues and left the £100,000 in play before rejecting a £40,550 final offer and then swapping to become only the second ever £100k box winner! James followed it up well with a similar turnaround if on a smaller scale, as he too swapped for a £15,000 win. We had plenty of entertainment on "Planet Joan" as she took £25,000 before the courageous Lisa pushed her luck too far and left with £3,000. And finally, Stuart achieved an unwanted record of taking out the top three in one 3-box round, but still left with £20,000.

A month that was painful to watch at times, but certainly a memorable one with a few records broken!

August was excellent then things fell flat and didn't pick up til after Zahida's game barring Theresa's game. We're back on track now, no blue wins apart from viv and even that was a reasonably 'happy trainwreck'.

What a rollercoaster ride of a month, I think Stuart's game symbolised it all, starting off good, suddenly turning *horrible*, and then getting better at the end! It's amazing to think that, with all the blue wins, we didn't get any new members of the 1p club!

The 22 at the start of the month was quite confusing, seeing more and more females replacing the males, by the time the whole wings were female I couldn't tell anyone apart, but luckily the situation's better now! That week with the four blue wins was one of the lowest points in the entire show's history, up there with the end of Season 1 and the end of March this year, it literally did seem absolutely impossible for *anyone* to win anything at all. If everyone that week had gone to the end then we'd have seen combined winnings of £525.11...and that's mainly due to Caroline's high blue, if she'd have swapped then it'd have been a dismal £25.12!

Luckily Zahida's £34,000 turned things around, feeling especially amazing after that bad run of luck. I loved the twist in Tom's game, although at this time it was still difficult to actually think as to what Show of the Month would be, it was looking like it was going to be a really interesting battle. That is until this Tuesday, I think there's absolutely no chance of anyone other than Maria winning it, wasn't the game it could have been because of the editing making a big win really obvious, but I think it has it in the bag! Like last year, the final week of the month was the best and most memorable. Last October is one of my favourite months ever, I hope this one will be just as good!

I know. I was amost convinced that Stuart would win 1p yesterday though. Overall, I enjoyed this month. I didn't like the Battle of the Sexes though, as it meant that many of the men had shorter than average runs, and the women had longer runs. Also, if they didn't do the Battle of the Sexes, we wouldn't have had so many trainwrecks.

Yeah, I agree, I sort of agree with that. It seemed to mess things up, e.g. people's runs. The whole thing is random so I guess it didn't matter in a way but it made the trainwrecks feel pretty awful.

Like others have said, the last week of this month has been the best week of September, which is good news as we go into October on a high.

I don't know why but I have a good feeling about this forthcoming month.

well, to be honest it was a bit like last september. A lot of crashes, a few people's "Dreams" came true. Nothing different from any other month

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

September 2007 was a very odd month and will be remembered for many things. There was the run of bad luck and loads of blue wins - it is the month with the highest number of blue wins with 8 blues being won in September! There was however, the odd huge win (Maria's £100k in particular). There was the battle of the sexes which seemed to drag on for ages and have a long-lasting effect as it meant that afterwards, male players were playing early.

There was a sudden surge in comedy deals, which made the trainweck games a bit more interesring. There were also records set - Stuart taking out the Power 3 in one round and of course the first ever non-monetary offer and two of them being dealt. There was the strange banker behaviour leaving players with no get-outs on weak boards (Irene's offers in particular).

As Power5 said, it's certainly been an eventful month... and therefore memorable. Was it a good month? I'm not entirely sure. I didn't like the battle of the sexes for reasons I've given elsewhere - mainly the fact that some of my favourites did low show counts and some who I didn't really know did high show counts. The whole thing was pointless as well, what with the crap prize for men. Overall, it was an average month with some interesting factors, but not all of them good or enjoyable.
