DOND's Christmas Contestant Appeal

As mentioned on today's show, here are the details pulled from the Channel4 site....

Do you know someone who deserves to be a contestant on Deal or No Deal?

Well now is your chance to nominate that special someone who'll get a chance to win a quarter of a million pounds.

They could be a member of your family, a friend or even someone in your local community. They could have shown remarkable bravery or selflessness, have accomplished great things for themselves or others - or just simply deserve a break and some seasonal cheer.

Whoever you nominate, it's your opportunity to say a big festive thank you.

All you have to do is send an email to christmasdeal@endemoluk.com expressing your interest, and we will send you an application form with further instructions.

Terms and Conditions:
Please note that contestants must be 18 or over to appear on Deal or No Deal.
Nominations must be received by midnight on Friday 12th October 2007 to be considered.
The person must be available for filming in Bristol from mid November 2007. Dates to be confirmed.
Short listed nominees will be contacted for a telephone interview and if selected to participate in the programme must agree to abide by any applicable code of conduct as may be issued by Endemol.
Deal or No Deal's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
We are unable to let you know if your nomination has been unsuccessful. Successful nominees will be contacted by phone.
Employees (and members of their family and household) of Channel 4 and Endemol UK are prohibited from entering the DOND Christmas Contestant Appeal.

It's an interesting idea though... and Alex Lovell said something about a week of special shows? So they're going to have 6 contestants chosen from this nomination thing? I wonder if they'll have the normal amount of shows on the wings or whether they'll do more or less than the average of 22...

I don't think just nominating someone is enough.

I got the impression that they are looking for especially deserving people who do things for the community and would donate all their winnings to charity, as opposed to someone like me who would just blow it at lap-dancing bars! :-D

I bet they are looking for some kind of human interest story that tugs at the heartstrings rather than the usual kind of person who might apply. That's why I'm going to go out now and help a few old ladies across the road and do a few other good samaritan type deeds!

It''s going to take a lot to weed out the genuinely deserving from all the chancers. I don't envy the production crews job on this one at all.

I am going to vote for my dad. He deserves it!
