I have received the following request for assistance in a university study looking into the scale of emotions that people may feel after a Deal or no Deal game. If you are willing to help out in the research, please read the information below and follow the links :D

Quote:
"Psychologists at City University, London are seeking 'Deal or No Deal' viewers for a research study of the psychology of 'Deal or No Deal'.

We are looking for 'Deal or No Deal' viewers to give their evaluation of the emotions experienced by contestants on the show. If you would be willing to review some of the past Deal or No Deal shows and give your judgment about the feelings of the contestants then just follow the link below.

This is an online study - people participate by going to my website, where
you then get to follow previous Deal or no Deal games as "slide shows".
After each episode they are invited to give ratings about the emotions that
relate to the outcome of the game.

Thanks for your help!

I recognised most of the games too... most of mine came from January so I think it's a randomised selection from a large number of real games.

they had cocky bill ,maddie, crazy Jane, David J but they also had Peg/bunney/Richard/chantelle etc.

EDIT : Peter, Jo, Kascey, Stephen etc from May. It's pretty mixed.

I definitely recall Laura, Nicola and the old guy (Don?) from the same week, and I think there was £25k Paul in there too. And Thanh. I basically got the early-January collection, aka the I'd Deal At Offer 3 Most Games collection.

I got all the September shows, so Cocky Bill, Maddie, Helen, Nev, Emi, Naughty Barbara, Khanny, etc. It's difficult when you know the players, as looking at Emi's game you'd think she was extremely disappointed by it but when seeing her game you see she isn't - ditto Khanny!

I definitely recognised a few games... although it says the games shown are how they were played for real, including the player's decisions - I had Steven's game come up on my one and it had him go to the end and win £50k, rather than dealing at the third offer of £27,500. :?

Anyway, I spent some time doing it and I've submitted it now... I hope it helps with the work!

I agree with billy, it's too complicated to think about on a scale of 1 to 15 because there's many factors in a player's decision etc.

I'll get back to it this evening.

Also what H said, they've definitely altered where some of the deals were made. bunney dealt at 31K and had the 250K!

I think Peg went all the way as well and Jeff dealt at 41K!

I had some strange decisions as well, for instance Georgina's recreated game had her rejecting £85,000 and winning £50, and Paul H didn't take his £40k third offer, but his £25k fifth.

Also, whose game had 1p in the box and had a fifth offer of £2,016.01?

That would be 1p Tony. The £16.01 was the sum of all his blues at the 5box stage.

I suppose they've changed a few of the decisions but kept the same offers and the same boards.

There seem to be different types of each game - I certainly had a third-offer deal one, and also had some gambling ones... some where they gambled and it worked, some where they gambled and it didn't work... some where they dealt too early, some where they dealt at the right time... and some where it was an average game where they could've had a bit more had they dealt at a slightly different time.

The rating out of 15 would've been better out of 10 in my opinion, as you tend to think of "5" as being the middle ground... whereas out of 15, it's not immediately obvious where the middle ground is (I guess the 7 or 8 region)... I suppose there were good reasons for making it out of 15 and not 10 though.

Overall, it's been well put together and a lot of hard work has certainly gone into it.

Renee appears to have dealt at round four!

I seem to be getting all the early June games with £1,000 at the table. I've had Karen, Renee and Jamie so far, suppose I'll get Rita or Paul B now.

I've had Rita as the fourth game, she dealt at £15,000...

Hmm. I think a lot of the questions are actually too variable to answer accurately, and on the subject, WHY do these random people want to know how we feel about the show and what exactly do they know about the show.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

I think what Kestral said in the first post sums it up... it's obviously come from some university students studying psychology at City University in London and they need to do some research for their dissertation...

I have something else to say aswell:

Whatshername dealt at £7,500 not £15,000
Renee won £1,000
Jamie dealt at £10,000 i think, or was it the 2nd £9.999k?
Whatshisface rejected £990 and won the box contents
Pauline won £1,600 not £5,500
Rodney dealt at £85,000, he did not reject it [and by the way, i clicked No regret for rodney's game, based on his character on the wings/on his game[
Whatsherface rejected £8,000 and won the £750.

Yes... as other people have already mentioned, they seemed to have taken games and changed at what point the player dealt...
