Sorry about this but it's winding me up. He will build up drama and then the biggest number goes.

Then yesterday he mentioned about Maria and it was 1p...

Along with voting, please have an explanation.

It must be baffling you coz you got it as your MSN screen name at the moment!

Now I know he doesn't know because only the independent adjudicator does, to make it completely fair.

But you know the first dozen or so games back in 2005? Back then I'm sure he knew - because in Mally's game for example, he said "because you actually had the quar..." before he had even lifted his box lid!

Then although not an early game, in Dave E's game, he said "You could have won 150 pennies, but you've actually won..." before opening his box.

Both ironic comments in my opinion. So I don't think he knows nowadays, but back when it first started, surely he did.

What do you mean, like the way he builds it up?

Like the building up of tension in vicky's game before the Qm went or him saying viv, £750 please in daniel's game and it was etc.

there have been a few other times where Noel has banged on about a box on the table containing a power 5 and it did like Alex/gladstone's game and it dis but that was probably a coincidence.

So I voted Surely he can't because he probably doesn't but am open to conspiracy theories. I still think it's very unlikely though.

Not in a million years does he know. Back in the 50's there was a game show scandal which was fixed and ever since there have been very tight regulations. If Noel knew DOND would have been stopped in a week and Endemol fined hundreds of thousands. Noel doesnt know at all.

I'd imagine Noel builds up every box the same but only the select few get thourgh the editing and thats why he seems to jinx it.

However he thought John would have the 100K in box 10 and he didn't so that balances things out.

No, he doesn't know. As Tom has said, after the scandal in the 1950s in America, there are tight regultations meaning everything is very carefully checked and DOND was investigated over the LTL thing so anything going on would've been discovered then.

The reason Noel seems to be right sometimes is probably because they keep it in the editing - also, you're more likely to remember the times Noel's got it right, especially if you're looking for evidence to back up a conspiracy theory... Noel probably often gets predictions inaccurate but they remove them from editing as it looks dramatic if Noel makes a big build up and he gets his prediction correct - on screen, I'd say he gets it right about once evey 4 times out of 5, but I reckon in real life, it's more like for every 1 time he gets it right, he gets it wrong - but the editing shows a different story.

Also, as for what Davey was saying about Noel knowing what was in the boxes in the early days of the show - no, I don't think he did, as had he known, surely he would've tried to force Jennifer to take her £52,000 offer knowing that she only had £750 in her box? And I can't remember fully, but I don't remember him particularly trying to make her deal... and as for the comments he makes - he often makes such comments and then quickly follows them with a "NO!" if he's proved to be wrong - he says he gets feelings sometimes and he has been correct in the past, but often he has said things like "Have you got £20k in your box? Is it there? Is it there? NO!" etc...

Also, as Tom said, had there been anything strange going on, DOND would've been pulled off air long ago... I mean - look at the BBC and their phone-in competitions - they were pulled as soon as they found out there was something going on, so DOND wouldn't have stood a chance, I reckon!

Yeah...but then again as for the predictions, we are dealing with someone who is into cosmic ordering after all!

The Mally thing is because he peeked in the other box first I think.

Ah, but the regulations that came in the UK as a result of the 1950s scandals have largely been removed. (The US still has a number of them, critically including a properly influential Standards and Practices body that oversees things better than Ofcom ever will and guidelines on host intervention that I don't entirely know the ins and outs of, but which would - to my knowledge - prevent host Wakeyism...)

Does Noel know? He shouldn't, but I can't completely convince myself (though there's editing to consider, and lawks, manipulative editing is going on all the time these days).
